“Darkness Will Be The Cost”

There’s so much emptiness below the stars
Leaving shadows to walk around lost
The door is opened for this void to be filled
With sadness, as darkness will be the cost
As death, pain, and hate, corrupt the conscience
These puppets of a broken mankind shall rise
Pulling strings, as darkness starts tormenting souls
Giving eternities echoes the screams when a shattered heart cries
At the beginning of the day, two people in love
Holding hands, sweet kisses, and passion hot
A whiskey bottle, white lines, and stupidity
That supplied the tempers with the death that they bought
There are so many puppets of breath and blood
Influencing the young that feed on naivete’
Creating generations of darkness’s bloody fate
Minds now abandon, live in a world without grey
Selfish attitudes want all the respect
Their minds are filled with a burning crown
They take the pennies from the eyes of the dead
And speak the words that will break innocence down
Fishbowls are filling up with death of tears sad
Bodies are feeding the puppets every night
The lost shadows have found their way to the table
And gluttony is drooling blood with smiles of delight
Such black and blue highlight their scars
With handprints leaving marks of red
The children are standing on a bridge unsure
Of their breath in life or their breath for the dead
The darkness cost, for many, believing it’s for free
But emptiness creates the ignorant for its gain
The shadows lap up what the souls bleed down
Leaving memories attached to a darkened chain
There will always be a tomorrow’s star
Underneath it, another story to be told
So many ways each word will bleed
Fate is just waiting for the book to be sold
