Hey guys, We are doing a trip from Melbourne to Perth on the Xmas holidays. Does anyone have any good camping spots between these destinations, preferably free camps or if there is any good stand out caravan parks for the kids. Any tips would be great. We are looking at 6-8 weeks. We know that we can look at wiki camps etc, but nothing is better than recommendations.

On our way to NRMA Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park for the Vacationer Caravans Muster. Should be a good weekend. If anyone is interested in having a look at our Dynamic Slide on Campers we will be at the Muster until Sunday Morning, so feel free to come and say hi 👋🏻

Great place to stop for an overnighter (or longer) Kevington Hotel. So relaxing camping down by the river and have dinner booked at the pub. As usual we have the Isuzu NPS fitted with the Dynamic Slide on Campers and following closely is our daughters Hybrid Caravan from Vacationer Caravans.

Mikayla has done her first major purchase at the age of 15. She has brought a Vacationer Hybrid Caravan and is looking forward to setting it up and start travelling. We will be towing it behind the Isuzu NPS to start with until she can tow it, but Mikayla will be doing the setting up and packing up from each camp spot. At least when she is at the age to venture out on her own we know she will have the experience behind her. We want to thank Vacationer Caravans so much for their excellent Customer Service at the Melbourne Leisurefest and actually took the time to go over the van with Mikayla to make sure she would be happy with it. It means a lot to us. We are booked in to go to the Vacationer Caravan owners get together at Sydney Lakeside in November and Mikayla is so excited to show it off.

What an awesome show having here in Melbourne at the Melbourne Leisurefest!

Had the pleasure of meeting this young lady by the name of Mikayla today. Mikayla is the youngest person we know of to purchase a caravan, she’s 15 years old.

Mikayla has just purchased her very own BRAND NEW Vacationer Hybrid Caravan today at the show.
(With a little bit of help from mum and dad).

Mikahyla has been working hard for the past 6 months saving hard.

CONGRATULATIONS 🥳 🎉 👏 to you Mikayla.

After 4 hours of cleaning the truck we are now At the 2023 Melbourne Caravan & Camping Leisurefest. Prime parking to look for a small caravan for Mikayla as she gets her learners in February and gets her new Suzuki Jimny to tow it. We will be doing videos of the fit out on our YouTube page

Good bye NSW, hello Victoria. Home today, much to Harleys disgust. He is not a happy camper.

Our last stay was at Tocumwal Town Beach. What a great spot. Stayed for 3 nights and it didn’t cost anything (Usually $5.00 per night). Nice clean campground with water (no electricity) toilets and shows (but we used our own) and a nice walk into town.

The campsite is being closed on Monday due to the Murray rising but when it’s open again we definitely recommend this camp.

Arrived at Nindigully Pub for lunch. WOW what a burger. We got the Road Train burger which is 5.1kg and it was absolutely beautiful. Cooked perfectly and awesome customer service. Definitely recommend to anyone to stop here if passing through 🍔

Just a few pictures of our last few days. From Winton Qld to Longreach qld, now in Emerald. Weather is very hot but I think we are slowly adjusting.

Winton was a little town with a few things to do. We were limited due to having Boof with us but we done the Age of the Dinosaur tour and horse and carriage tour and learnt of Wintons History. Winton has the House of the Crack up Sisters that you can do a walkthrough, plenty of pubs, the Waltzing Matilda Centre with a statue of Banjo Patterson out front and lots of Opal shops.

Longreach was another town which had a few things to do but the main reason we stopped is the Qantas Museum. It is the only place that you can actually walk on the wing of a 747. What a great tour. We done the Museum on the Friday afternoon, then went back to do the night light show where they projected the history of Qantas onto the side of the 747, and then back there on the Saturday to the the 747 Wing Walk tour. With this tour we were able to sit in the cockpit of the 747, tour the plane and do the wing walk. Great experience.

Now we stopped in Emerald just for the night and this morning we are travelling to Carnavorn Gorge. Looking forward to this one.

We will be doing a a video on our YouTube channel when we get back to Victoria in a weeks time but for the mean time this is just a few photos.

Getting exciting now at Hann River Roadhouse Awesome spot to stopover on the way too/from the tip. Heaps of camp spots, nice food and the people who run it are only too accomodating. Nice food and clean amenities.
