The Untamed (Chinese: 陈情令; pinyin: Chén Qíng Lìng) is a 2019 Chinese television series based on the BL xianxia novel Mo Dao Zu Shi by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, starring Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo.The series follows the adventures of two soulmate cultivators who travel to solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and defeating the true culprit.It aired in China on Tencent Video from June 27 to August 20, 2019. The cheerful, mischievous, carefree Wei Wuxian, adoptive son of the Jiang clan, becomes fast friends with the righteous and duty-minded Lan Wangji during an educational seminar hosted every year at the Lan clan's compound. Things become complicated when, during their adventures, the pair find out that the head of the Wen sect is the evil mastermind behind a series of plots that would wreak havoc upon the lands.

In the present, Wei Wuxian is universally reviled as a practitioner of the dark arts; despite having been presumed dead for almost 16 years, he is portrayed as a vicious, bloodthirsty monster and his name is used to frighten children. Mo Xuanyu, the badly-abused nephew of the Mo clan head and the only cultivator in his otherwise mundane clan, uses a dark ritual to summon the spirit of Wei Wuxian into his own body and bind him with a curse that forces Wei Wuxian to punish Mo Xuanyu's enemies. While Wei Wuxian struggles to figure out what has happened in the world since his death and complete his curse-enforced mission, he ends up encountering Lan Wangji. The two work together to solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and defeating the true culprit. The series aired every Thursday and Friday (GMT +08:00) with two episodes each, and VIP members could have early access to two more. On the first day of its release, a total of six episodes were available to VIP members. On June 30, 2019, their official Weibo released a new schedule and shifted the release from Monday to Wednesday. The series ended on August 20, 2019 with the 50th episode. 2020年1月11日，《陳情令》獲得微博年度年度熱劇。 十六年前，天下五分，姑蘇藍氏，雲夢江氏，清河聶氏，岐山溫氏，蘭陵金氏共治天下。溫氏一家獨大，其餘四家均受其苦。眾家青年中，江氏故人之子魏嬰性格開朗，和以雅正聞名的姑蘇藍氏弟子藍湛相識並引為知己。一次偶然的機會，二人發現了藍氏一直以來守護的秘密，二人繼承遺志，為蒼生消除隱患。但沒想到一切的幕後黑手正是溫氏家主溫若寒。眾家不堪其辱，合力討伐溫氏。溫氏覆滅後，魏嬰卻為保護溫氏無辜之人不惜與眾家對立，最終被奸人所害釀成大禍，誤害師姐江厭離，自己也落下不夜天懸崖，屍骨無存。十六年後，消失已久的魏嬰出現在莫家莊，偶遇故人藍湛。莫家莊一樁樁詭異的兇案顯得撲朔迷離。隨著真相一步步揭開，身處幕後的金光瑤漸漸難以隱藏。最後金光瑤身死，藍湛承擔起了匡扶天下的使命，而魏嬰不忘初心，最終瀟灑世間。藍湛與魏嬰一同浪跡天涯。
