The HV switch unit’s door was wide open, padlock was nowhere to be found. Then it was raining so hard that night. The result was a very loud explosion that woke the people around 1am. The feeder tripped and had to isolate the whole switch unit to restore the power and replace it.

A group of youngsters reenacted the “ Fast And The Furious “ scene but indeed up hitting the power pole and the car rolled over a couple of times. The feeder tripped after the collision and they decided not to call the police to report it but called for a tow truck instead. Two hours of patrolling the line trying to locate the fault and found them eventually. luckily the driver only suffered minor injuries and already fleed leaving her friends onsite. Drive safe people.

A suspected drug house was raided by the police early in the morning and I was sent out to disconnect the power to the said property. We found this illegal connection on the main cable to the house before the main switch. Cut open the wall to expose the cable and connect an extra phase. This could have been next in line for a house fire if not discovered.
