Hi...ARMY. Especially Yoongi stans. (Like me 🥺🫂)
How are you? How is the world treating you right now? How is social media affecting you? Pause, EYES HERE.
It will get better. It will get better for him. It will get better for the boys. It will then get better for all of us. I try not to come on to twitter in fear of ruining my day but I see it everywhere now.
I believe this is something we should talk about here now that some of armys are letting out how sad, frustrated, and uneasy they feel since it happened. So before you get drunk and drive your e-bike just because you're frustrated af, let's do something that would actually calm us down.
Allow us to walk you through first.
💢 What happened?
- Yoongi had a couple of drinks before heading home.
- He took his electric scooter and drove home.
- Upon reaching his house he fell on his scooter.
- Conveniently, there was a police nearby 👀 and helped him get up.
- Conveniently, the police smell alcohol while helping him.
- Gave him an alcohol test and he tested positive by 0.08% (that could already be DUI if you're in Korea.)
- BigHit released a statement about what happened.
- And Yoongi released an apology.
- People thought it ends there.
- BigHit again released a statement that there will be further investigations.
• ARMY got a little uncomfortable with this because it seems like they are reading too much into what happened. ARMY is frustrated because nobody got hurt in the incident but police won't let go of the case. But of course, since this is another country's procedures we cannot do anything. BUT that doesn't mean that we are not allowed to criticize knowing 0.08% does not pass as DIU to most countries, and people are making a big of a deal out of the situation.
🚙🍺 Before people attack us here, we know that drunk driving is a serious risk. People could get hurt. You could get hurt. And a lot of people have lost their loved ones because of drunk drivers. Thus, I believe one of the reasons why Yoongi had to apologize. It is important to apologize. We are not hypocrites here.
But then again, with the situation, with the facts of the incident- across his house, 0.08%, and no people harmed- this could be a warning ticket but not an extreme escalation. So it is frustrating. Yes, your feelings are warranted.
💢The situation right now is this:
- Koreaboo and Pannchoa have been *obsessed* with what happened.
- They post the incidents almost every 2 hours. Relating it to DUI incidents, members leaving their group to keep the attention out of the other members (hinting that Yoongi should leave for the sake of the 6)
- Korean netizens have also been CONDEMNING Suga back and forth because of what happened.
- This is still ongoing.
• As an ARMY you are allowed to be furious about this. This is too much.
💢 Why are they doing this?
- To trigger the armys to react. ARMY are known to be patola when it comes to trigger posts. We cannot help it, it's fine. But this time..HELP IT.
- Every post you click that leads to their website, they gain money.
- Every post you share of ANY news outlets, drives traffic to their site, they gain money.
- Wonder why local news posts about it too? And make it more triggering? They gain money.
- Every search 🔍 we make. They gain traffic. Money.
- Every comment you make. Every share. Every "angry/haha/sad" reaction on a post, they gain money.
💢 How about K-Netizens? Why are they doing this?
- It's culture.
- Most of them are haters.
- Most of them come from different groups.
They won't care how much you trashtalk them. How much you criticize their company because with most news outlets- BAD PUBLICITY IS STILL PUBLICITY. Money is money.
We are a powerful fandom and we continue to be. But let us use that power wisely. Ignore them. Give no reaction. At all.
💢 What can we do?
- Screenshot the post if you really really want to share it to rant. Do not share/comment/react on their main post.
- Do not pick fights. It's not worth it.
- If an army/anti is triggering you, block right away. RIGHT AWAY.
- Stop convincing haters to agree with you. It will never end.
- Stream D-Day. Just imagine, the more rotations the song gets, the more awards, the more sales, and more motivation for Yoongi to keep going.
- Go to weverse and spend your time sending fan letters and posts to the boys. Make it short, simple and happy. In Korean- if possible.
- Ignore K Netizens right now, nothing could change their mind. We can't fight culture.
- Meet up with other armys and talk about it. Let all your frustrations out.
🫂 If you are too sad because you can't help but think about Yoongi, just remember that he will get through this as long as he still has you. As long as you're still on his side, and as long as we keep streaming, leaving messages, and surprising him with awards.
We love him because he is strong. We love him because he is quite something else. And we have been loving him because he never backs down. Find your peace and....look forward to Cypher Part 5 in 2025. 😎
Hugs, and go ahead and message your army friends to meet up or hang out. Let's army harder.
