In earlier times, African hair has been heavily doused in Western Styles, where sleek and straight hair are the norms. The zeitgeist in those times dictated that silky straight hair was the standard, however, the tide has come back.
Full-Circle is a photographic series that looks at how the pendulum has swung from the straight and silky hair of the West to the curled and coiled of Africa . The "Full-Circle" titled speaks to the theme of coming back to the origins of everything, where everything from space and colour will go back to its most original state.

Over the last few days I’ve done a lot of listening, reflecting, learning. I’ve heard more Black women than I can remember say something to the tone of “I understand the Black man’s plight” yet when I think about it, have never heard us say something similar. Why is it Black women do so much to defend and protect us yet we almost go out of our way to disrespect her? I refuse to continue to allow this to happen. While I can’t go back and fix anything I’ve done to perpetuate toxicity towards women, specifically BW, I can move forward with better understanding of how I can change the narrative. I won’t get it right every time but I’ll get better and better/////slides originally taken from
