This week’s guest In the Flamingo Lounge is Tom Ryan. Tom's musical journey kicked off as the drummer for the recording group Weekend, famous for their top ten hits “Together” and “Everyday.” (which you can hear in the episode). His talent led to sharing stages with music legends like Grand Funk Railroad, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Ray Vaughan and many others. At just 18, with Weekend, Tom toured nationally with pop singer Bobby Sherman, and by 20, “Together” had soared into the national top ten. After a decade with Weekend, who were inducted into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame in 2000, he continued to showcase his drumming prowess with various projects, including The Soul Providers and the popular Tom Petty tribute band, Learning to Fly. When not performing, Tom, a resident of Lewiston, NY, enjoys traveling the world, exploring international wines, and tending to his heirloom tomatoes and flower gardens.

Back together and back in the Flamingo Lounge is Sunday Reign, a four-piece alternative rock band from Buffalo, NY, formed in 2022. The lineup features Michael Delano (vocals, guitar), Owen Krieger (guitar), Sean Laettner (drums), and Alex Cousins (electric cello).

Sunday Reign’s sound hits a balance between heaviness and beauty. It’s high-energy, emotional, and unfiltered—driven by thick guitars, honest vocals, and the electric cello, which adds a unique edge that feels like it always belonged in rock music.

In this high-energy episode there is great conversation, a lot of laughs and new music recorded live In the Flamingo Lounge.
