A Kentucky state trooper was hit on a snow and ice-covered Interstate 65 in Hart County, Kentucky, on Sunday.

The trooper was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for "non-life threatening injuries," according to Kentucky State Police.

The Straits of Mackinac is currently experiencing high winds (35 - 49 mph) which require that high profile vehicles crossing the Mackinac Bridge have a wind es**rt, which paces them so they do not drive too fast for the conditions.

Examples of high profile vehicles include pickup trucks with campers; cars with small boats, bicycles or luggage attached to the roof; Ryder or U-Haul trucks; any vehicle pulling a boat; semi-tractors with enclosed trailers and all trailers with side walls over two feet in height.
