As a MissIndianaWeek has come to a close it’s time to now play catch-up, but I can’t do that without acknowledging Friday night prelims and everything that happened and the excitement of finals. When I became reeligible to compete in this organization, I was nervous about the idea fitness coming back, but I knew as a plus size woman I had to be the representation of beauty at all sizes, that fitness does not have a size shape or expectation, and I truly believe I did just that. I got to share a holistic, well rounded approach to fitness, my journey with PCOS, and loving the skin you have. I do need to thank for being some of my biggest supporters and sponsoring me. I could not be more thankful to be in a community that promoted inclusivity, accountability, and showing up at your daily best. For anyone who needs to hear it, health is not a size on a tag and YOU SHOULD TAKE CARE OF YOU BODY BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT, NOT BECAUSE YOU WANT TO CHANGE IT.

Last Monday I had the opportunity to advocate for Music Therapy Licensure in the state of Indiana, SB 338. I got to meet with 3 different representatives. , , and . This past Wednesday it was unanimously voted on in committee and will be moving ahead to the senate floor! Thank you all for your support of our bill!

At the beggining of the year, I was going into 2023 preparing on giving up my title and being a forever. A few weeks later Miss America changed their rules to up the age range and today, I am lucky enough to say I am your Miss Collegiate Indy 2023! I look forward to all my work supporting disability rights and inclusion, connecting with the different universities in Indy, and going back and representing on the Miss Indiana stage. 💕Follow my journey .

Yesterday I got to talk about my passion… my job as a music therapist and supporting people with disabilities. When I got this question, I knew who I wanted to talk about. This woman is a beam of sunshine but has been through so much in her life, many her team will never know or have background on. I started working with her 6 weeks before shut down. We were growing our relationship and all the sudden, she thought I was mad at her and she didn’t know why. Oh how that hurt to hear, but I knew I had to do something. What was planned to be a song wasn’t needed- she picked up the rhythm of the montra and used it, entering sessions saying it.
