🏛ARCH is an intercultural Project that aims to improve student’s digital and cultural literacy skills by exploiting each country’s cultural .

🎮The partnership is currently developing 4 digital educational games; one for each partner country. To identify the pedagogic and technical framework of the games, the consortium contacted desk research in all partner countries and organized national focus groups with teachers in education.

👉The ARCH games aim to:

✔️Help students gain knowledge on the cultural sights/monuments both at a local and a European level
✔️Help students learn information about the historical context and the events that shaped each country’s cultural heritage
✔️Develop and enhance students’ critical thinking skills by participating in quizzes, tasks, etc.
✔️Develop students’ digital skills/literacy with the implementation of technology
✔️Develop students’ communication and collaboration skills
✔️Highlight the importance of cultural heritage conservation
✔️Promote the importance of information exchange on cultural heritage

👉The games will incorporate the following elements:

✔️Interactive quizzes and puzzle challenges to enhance learning and active participation
✔️Narrative to provide context and explanations
✔️Visualization to illustrate cultural trends, facts and figures
✔️Personalization options to tailor the game to the needs of the students
✔️Digital sound

👀 Do you know that it’s possible to discover Spain through movies?

Have you ever heard of “The Road to El Dorado”? (DreamWorks, 2000) 🎬

Through this cartoon it is possible to learn more about the history of 16th-century’s Seville where Tulio and Miguel, the two protagonists, won a map that supposedly shows the location of El Dorado, the legendary city of gold in the New World! 💎

This itinerary shows the most beautiful hidden gems of indigenous treasure, but it also allows the students to know not only the Spanish point of view, but also the true story of El Dorado, while acknowledging the importance of remembering the indigenous American civilizations. 📝

It could be fun to learn history!! Remember: there is no future without a past‼️

Let’s learn explore about Cultural Heritage in Spain!

Spain, a country rich in cultural heritage, boasts numerous monumental treasures. With over 40 UNESCO World Heritage sites, it offers a remarkable array of architectural wonders.

From the iconic Alhambra in Granada to the majestic Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain's monuments are renowned worldwide. The Alhambra showcases intricate Islamic architecture, while the Sagrada Familia showcases the visionary designs of Antoni Gaudí.

Other notable monuments include the historic city of Toledo, the Roman aqueduct of Segovia, and the stunning Alcazar of Seville. These monuments stand as testaments to Spain's rich history, architectural prowess, and cultural significance.

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending an exciting Erasmus+🇪🇺 Consortium Meeting in the beautiful city of Patras, Greece 🇬🇷.

This gathering brought together enthusiastic participants from Cyprus🇨🇾, Spain🇪🇸, Greece🇬🇷, and Italy🇮🇹, who are collaborating on a remarkable project centered around cultural heritage🏰 throughout gaming🎮 and application💻 development.

During the meeting, representatives from each country showcased their progress, experiences, and challenges in implementing this innovative project. The primary objective is to foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation from the participating nations, utilizing gaming and application development as powerful tools.

The game and application are being developed within the framework of this project aim to provide students with an enriching and enjoyable learning experience. Through interactive activities and educational challenges, cognitive, linguistic, and social skills are promoted, along with knowledge about the cultural heritage and history of the involved countries.

Intensive working sessions took place during the meeting, where participants exchanged ideas and opinions on how to improve the game and application, with the goal of making them more accessible and engaging for students. Additionally, strategies for disseminating and promoting the project locally and internationally were discussed, ensuring its impact and reach.

The collaboration between the participating countries has been crucial for the success of this project. Participants have had the opportunity to learn from each other, share best practices, and strengthen the bonds between the different cultures represented.
The Erasmus+ Project has once again demonstrated its ability to bring people from different countries together and build bridges through education.

In conclusion, the Erasmus+ Consortium Meeting in Patras was an enriching and productive event. The participants' passion and commitment have left us with high expectations for the future development of this project. We are excited to see how it evolves and how it will positively impact the education of students from Cyprus, Spain, Greece, and Italy.

Our goals:
📌 facilitate autonomous and independent learning through the implementation of online applications and platforms;
📌 familiarize students with technology applications to combine real and virtual elements in a real environment and at the same time work interactively and in real time;

“88% of European citizens agree that Europe’s heritage should be taught in schools” says the European Commission based on the 2017 Eurobarameter survey, the basic idea is to offer experiencies to learn new concepts and skills.

With this mission, the ARCH Project focuses on the development of digital educational games that will give students the opportunity to familiarise with different technologies and improve their basic literacy skills, enriching their knowledge on cultural heritage of European partners' countries.

At the same time, the project will also provide to teachers and educators new learning tecniques and material involving the usage of online tools, generating good practices and innovative pedagogical methods.

ARCH is an intercultural Project that aims to improve student’s digital and cultural literacy skills by exploiting each country’s cultural heritage.

This will be done combining the real world with a virtual dimension through the development of an application with a platform where cultural heritage information, along with digital educational games that allow students to familiarise with technology.

The cultural heritage of each country will be highlighted and at the same time the combination of cultural heritage and digital technology can lead to the development of innovative approaches that will enrich the educational process, giving students, educators and all actors and organisations involved in education a database with abundant information on the cultural heritage of their place and of the other countries involved.

The kick-off meeting of ARCH project was held in Murcia the 10th and 11th of November 2022 with partners all around Italy, Greece and Cyprus.
