Angeles City school to receive global award for championing children’s road safety
In celebration of National Children’s Month, the City Government of Angeles, in partnership with UNICEF Philippines and ImagineLaw, will award Tacondo Elementary School in Angeles City Pampanga on November 19, 2024 (Tuesday); 9:00AM for achieving a five-star rating in the Star Rating for Schools. This recognition is given to schools worldwide for implementing road safety measures to protect children from road crashes on their journey to and from school.
The Department of Education Angeles, the University of the Philippines National Center for Transportation Studies, and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation will also participate in the event to express their commitment to making Angeles roads safer for everyone, especially children.
In addition to the awarding, the Angeles City Traffic Development Office will lead a guided tour with selected pupils to showcase the new road safety measures including road signs, markings, and engineering interventions installed around Tacondo Elementary School.
