I feel time pressures no differently than any one else… and I must admit, sometimes, something has to give. But when you are choosing what “gives” think about whether any pressure would be removed if your book was working for you in your business on autopilot. I’m all for down time… but sometimes choosing to give up say “the social scroll” for an hour could give you 10 x that back in the long run if you choose to write instead.

If you want to get in flow… STOP PERFECTING AS YOU GO. You use a different side of your brain for both creativity and editing, that’s why you will make the process frustratingly stop/start if you try and do both things at the same time. Get your first draft out - THEN begin a process of editing in stages.

Do you ever catch yourself thinking any of these things?

You only ever need ask yourself… “how can I do better?” What’s already out there gives you something to build upon.

Yet people don’t follow this same process when writing their book 🤦🏻‍♀️ Fiction & Non-Fiction differ in the approach to this as fiction allows for a lot more “flying by the seat of your pants” But if you want a great book for your brand, starting to write freely without a plan is the worst thing you can do.
