We come from broken families, our parents divorced when we were teenagers. There isn’t a day that goes by where we don’t long for those days before everything fell apart.We miss our parents. We miss our siblings. It’s so odd to think that the first how many years of your life are one way and you don’t know any different, to it never being like that again. Ring your siblings and laugh about your favourite memories over coffee. Play nintendo 64 with them again at your parents house. Angela Featherstone opened our eyes to the realities of our youth within and who have aged out of foster care. The fact that these kids are looking to prison for salvation & safety or that 80-90% end up homeless or worse is enough to tell us something needs to be changed. Angela has created a healing school called the Fostering Care Healing School to not only help youth aged out of care heal their inner traumas but to also teach them the tools to walk into society & help other kids who are going through the same.
