CHINA: Cities in southern took precautionary measures on Thursday as intensified into a super typhoon, heading toward the island province of Hainan. Schools were closed, and some flights were canceled in anticipation of the storm’s impact.

Earlier in the week, Typhoon Yagi caused widespread damage in the , triggering floods and landslides on the main island of Luzon, where at least 13 people lost their lives.

According to China's news agency, Yagi strengthened significantly as it moved across the South China Sea, with wind speeds reaching up to 209 kilometers per hour (130 miles per hour). In response, Hainan’s disaster management authority raised its emergency response to the highest level by Thursday morning.

According to an office memorandum released by the Establishment Division, the directive instructs government employees to comply with the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1964. The order explicitly states that government employees are not allowed to use any social media platform without obtaining proper authorization.

ATHENS: The port city of Volos in central has declared a state of emergency following an inundation of dead fish, a crisis that local residents fear could severely impact their livelihoods.

The emergency declaration, announced by Vassilis Papageorgiou, the Secretary General of Civil Protection at the Climate Ministry, will unlock funding and resources to expedite the cleanup of the Pagasetic Gulf port, where tons of dead fish have accumulated along the coast and in rivers, as reported by the Athens News Agency.
