We here at PLS are absolutely devastated by the loss of an audio engineering legend, industry instigator, and overall hero of ours - Steve Albini. His raw, uncompromising sound in both his own bands and the bands he recorded is the exact reason why we wanted to start our own journey into production and sound, and we are all the richer for the time he’s spent here, for the landmark records he’s been a part of, and for the insane amounts of integrity and values he has pounded against the grain of standard industry practices….even at his own peril.
Godspeed, Mr. Albini. You truly were one of a kind.

Year 3. This was a year in particular of exercising patience and opening our own minds to possibility.
We got to finalize two full-length records - one from (OUT NOW) and one from Nik Flagstar And His Dirty Mangy Dogs (OUT SOON). We got to help unleash singles from brilliant up and comers Tulpa, a debut from our dear friends in Mons, and a grand reintroduction of Serena's Fire. We also saw two films we worked on - The Abode Film & ZOMBEEZ - The Movie - finally see the light of day. We got to help our very first client - Nila Keene - spread her wings into original territory, and we got to help some friends from Georgia - Sister Sandoz - get their new material to tape.
Within what could be called a successful year, there were still eggs that we counted before they hatched, but within that we feel we pushed ourselves to be better, to provide stronger sounds and stronger bonds with our clients. We can only hope to continue to prove that to you all in 2024.
Cheers to you all, and we hope for a prosperous new year for each and every one of you.

Just a little under 48 hours ago, ZOMBEEZ - The Movie was FINALLY unleashed to a sold-out Regal Cinemas Santa Rosa 10 crowd in Mary Esther, FL. With heavy work done by the PLS crew on both dialogue editing & score, our very own Rob Perez was on hand with his scoring partner Nik Flagstar to take in the moment.
While there’s no word on official release of the film or the film score at this time, we figured we could provide a small highlight reel of the premiere, complete with a tease of Nik & Rob’s work on the film. We’d like to give a MAJOR thank you to Kevin, Jared, and the entire team at The Sound for pressing play on Serena's Fire’s single, ‘Breakdown’, last night. The Sound has an immaculate track record of being nothing but supportive for local and regional artists all over the Gulf Coast dating to Rob’s days with the helvetica effect, and it’s beyond wonderful to still see that continue.

We are absolutely floored with the sheer professionalism and musicianship Sister Sandoz has brought to the table over the course of the last three days. Hey kids!! David here. Today is a big one here at PLS: our very own Rob Perez has a birthday. And not just any birthday… Today, The Man turns 40. Four decades on this floating rock. And in spite of everything, this guy has done some amazing things: -fronted one of the most badass bands ever in The Helvetica Effect -scored several projects with the one and only Nik Flagstar ( see Zombeez, SkunkApe, The Abode, just to name a few) -has been, to quote the late great Bob Barker, a loyal friend and true to this poor schmuck, to the point of becoming my brother and family and last but certainly not least -been an amazing, loving father to his boy Chris, aka: Duder. He pours all of himself into everything he does, and makes everything, and more importantly everyone, around him better in the process. So raise your glasses to this beautiful human being and wish him a Happy 40th Birthday!!! Love you, brother.

It’s The Abode Film day here at PLS, and we are very excited to see our hard sound work on this film finally come to fruition! We are beyond grateful for our friends at Eagle Star Films & Krygell Films for giving us the opportunity, and for Dark Star Pictures for taking a chance on us indie kids and distributing this film. It is now available TODAY on most digital and VOD services, and releases on DVD July 18th. While Marinho Nobre handled the bulk of the score work, our dear friend Nik Flagstar and our very own Rob Perez were also called to handle some of the moodier portions of the film score. Today, we are excited to see those moments finally brought to life.
