Br Khalil is an active member of the Metro Detroit Islamic community. He is the founder of Chill Don't Kill, an anti-violence advocacy group that seeks to eliminate violent crimes in the city of Detroit by mentoring the youth and training them in the building trades. He is a member of the Ansar Collective under the leadership of Imam Salim Khalid. He also serves on the executive board of The Muslim Center Mosque and Community Center in Detroit Michigan. He converted to Islam at the age of 16, a father of 3, and husband of 1.

Chill Don't Kill is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is committed to providing at-risk youth with positive experiences that have a lasting effect on how they choose to live their lives. Since 2012, we have held anti-violence rallies in various neighborhoods throughout the city. Our rallies help us to establish a presence in target areas which we use to leverage positive influence in the lives of our youth.
