There's only two days until launch day...😍 and we have a few more team members to introduce!

Today is Michaela Tempany, our chief copy editor. She's currently living in Wellington after having spent around 10 years overseas from Mexico to Australia, living, working and studying 🌎

Michaela is working towards a degree in creative writing, and one day hopes to write a novel. Bringing an infectious energy wherever she goes, Michaela loves music (she plays the guitar, flute, piano and sings), to read and being with her family 🎼 🌸 🌻

It’s time for another glimpse into the team behind the scenes at The Bellbird in the Mirror…up today, we have Lara Morgan, the creator of the beautiful design and artwork of our magazine. Lara is a 20-year-old student studying a BA in Creative Writing and Theatre Studies through Massey University in Palmerston North.

You’re likely to find her at rehearsal for a play (at the moment she’s prepping for the Massey Drama Society’s showcase ‘Pendulum’), drawing or writing poetry. Inspired to create and express herself through these different forms, Lara also loves to incorporate LGBT+ representation into her artwork where she can. 👩‍🎨 🌷

We're excited to take you behind-the-scenes to meet the team behind The Bellbird in the Mirror as we get closer to the release of our first issue!

First up.....the amazing Sophie Rogers, who came up with the vision for the magazine. ✨

Sophie is a 26-year-old avid writer/post-grad student born and bred in Alexandra. Graduating in 2015 with a BA in history at Otago University, Sophie is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in the arts (creative writing) through Massey University.

Outside of study, Sophie has been working on her debut novel since 2013 which is a piece of historical fiction called Night Shades and Paper Whites, set in the gold mining era of 1866 in Alexandra. You'll also find Sophie practicing Zumba, or working towards her other passion - Alexandra's annual Blossom festival which happens every September and showcases the amazing people and community she loves. 🌸 🌿
