As part of our efforts to promote the Seraiki language we are translating poems from other languages into Seraiki, starting with this poem by Zia Jalandhri saheb who wrote extensively in Urdu and published 5 books of poetry and prose. The poem is called "Anjaam" and has been very kindly translated by his excellence Hasnain Haider Saeen who has been a huge support to the podcast since it's inception.

We hope more of our fellow Seraikis will take part in this initiative by both translating poems into our mother tongue or promoting the works of our wonderful poets from the Vasaib.

Came across this wonderful video and wanted to share it immediately.

Meet Ch. Nand Lal Thakral who used to live in Jhumarwala (Teh. Kabirwala) Dist. Multan which was named behind his father’s name Ch. Jhumarmal Thakral (and his khoo).
Ch Nand Lal Thakral was 14yrs old when they came from Pakistani in 1947. He lost 9 family members in that unfortunate night in this Haveli which they have recently found after uploading a video on YouTube. He also spoke to the family currently living there. It was a great..great...great..... experience which can not be expressed in words. Thanks to Keshav Keshu (Director Keshu Films) and Khizar Hayat sahib for making a dream come true 🙏🏻

Seraiki is alive and well across the border! The people of Mianwali Nagar have kept their language and culture alive from over 70 years. What a heart warming story about the Seraiki Waseb.
