First Campfire of the Season 2021
The camp season is about to start. We have traded our propane fire ring for a real fire for the first time this year! I am thankful to be back in the woods for another season. We are at the base of the mountain, waiting to go up into the rainforest.
I hear hummingbirds zooming among the trees, leaves rustling in the wind and robins chirp as they collect their evening meal. There is peace in nature. We celebrate with a fire.
This time lapse shows me trying to remember how to make a fire for the first time in six months. The off season has been stressful and enlightening. Now it’s time to come back home to nature.
Social media is like a river, constantly streaming information and entertainment. It exists whether I interact with it or not. My job is to be conscious of when and how I step into the stream.
I love the connection social media provides. I strive to find a way to be present without getting sucked in over my head. This visual of the river really helps me understand my relationship with social media better.
You choose what your feed looks like and what you share. Take control of what you consume and create. Make your interaction feel good [inspiring, positive] to you. There is no pressure or wrong answer!
Social media is always flowing, just like the river. Find a balance between connection and quiet. You don't always have to be in the stream, it's okay to take a step back. It will be there when you need it.
I yearn to be wholely in this moment. This moment may be sitting by a river listening to bird songs or scrolling through my newsfeed. Wherever I am, I am all in. This does not always make for consistent posts, but that is not my reality right now. I am unapologetically random and living in the moment.
