With over 3600 hours of specialize training, Ryan has done it all from Gang Intelligence Unit to Special Victims Unit, from the police Cadet program to a School System Police officer. There isn't much Ryan hasn't done. But through it all, he has a great sense of humor.
We talk about memorable experiences with stars like Beyonce to scaring situations while protecting his pastor. Ryan also shares the story of him capturing evidence of a very unlikely suspect that made for a very interesting presentation during line-up before a shift. EP 60 - Retired military nurse Stephanie Baker-Jones
What a fun time I had with Stephanie Baker-Jones. She was such a delight to have on the show. This lady has so much going on right now but still took the time to share her story with me.
She retired from the military after 8 years in the U.S. Navy and 13 years as a surgical nurse in the U.S. Air Force. Now she's starting a new career as an armed security guard. Boy does she have some fun stories to share. As a surgical nurse, you know there are stories of people "falling" on adult toys and getting them stuck where they shouldn't. But there are even some stranger stories than that. She even tells a story about she and her fellow soldiers been essentially harassed because her commanding officer's husband had an STD and the entire crew knew it.

Rick Cook was part of my inspiration for starting the podcast and he was my first guest. But in this episode, he joins his son, Richard Cook, on the show. Richard is a 3rd generation cop and works the same district that I worked when I was on the force.
The pride that Rick has for his son following in his footsteps in undeniable. We talk about some surprises for Richard early on in his career and what it means to have a dad that he can lean on when he needs. Daddy Cook shares some of his most memorable SWAT team mishaps and how things might get real weird when he takes his pants off preparing for one SWAT call. Little Cook tells how his experience on the battlefield has prepared him for his job as a police officer and how in many ways, being a police officer is more challenging.
