Situated just outside Udaipur, this 19th-century palace is built on top of Bansdara hills. Used as a monsoon palace and hunting lodge, its builder, Maharana Sajjan Singh, originally planned to make it an astronomical center. The plan was cancelled with Maharana Sajjan Singh's premature death. It is still an awe-inspiring sight on the Udaipur skyline and offers spectacular views of the city and the areas around.

A glorious 16th century creation of the Vijayanagara empire, the Virabhadra Temple at Lepakshi is known for a number of its sculptures, not least of which are the hanging pillars. The temple stands atop the granite Kurmasaila (Hill of the Tortoise). The temple complex has several shrines dedicated to Papaneswara, Raghunatha, Srirama, Durga and Virabhadra (the main shrine). Lord Virabhadra, an incarnation of Shiva, was the patron God of the Nayak rulers.

b) The main temple is entirely built of granite. More than 130,000 tons of granite is said to have been used to build it.

Did You Know These Amazing Facts About The Konark Sun Temple?

A trip to Odisha is incomplete unless you pay a visit to the 13th century Konark Sun Temple.
An architectural marvel, this temple complex is built like sun god s towering chariot drawn by seven horses on 12 wheels.
Though today, the temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and much of the structure has deteriorated, it is still one of the most popular temples in India.

The structure has been built using black granite and it took 12 years to complete its architecture.

One of the most fascinating things of this temple was that the sun idol was suspended in the air as there were magnets used in the construction. So when you entered the main temple, you'd see a tall idol in mid-air.

For years, it was a mystery as to how this happened. People did not realise it was the magnetic field from all four sides that made this happen. But this also led to the removal of the idol. It is believed that this magnetic field affected the compass navigation for sailors and when they were invading India, they ordered the magnets to be removed. Thus, the idol could no longer be suspended in the air. Today, tourists aren't allowed to go into the main chamber as it has been sealed.

About Visapur Fort - 👇

The Visapur Fort is a popular hill fort near Visapur village located close to Lonavala.

Also called Visapoor Fort, it is a popular weekend getaway from Pune and Mumbai.

The majestic fort is a very popular destination for a trek.

The climb to the Visapur Fort is rocky but welcoming. Starting at Bhaje village, it is about 2.5 to 3 hours long each way and ends at the height of 3556 feet.

The fort stands at the height of 1084 meters above sea level offering panoramic view hills covered in a thick blanket of green.

Monsoons are definitely the best time to visit Visapur Fort - the greenery, brimming waterfalls, and the beautiful fog.

This massive fort was built as a twin of the famous Lohagad fort, but at a higher elevation and covering a larger surface area.

The Mysteries Of Parvati Valley you never heard about this --

Himachal Pradesh is one of the most preferred holiday destinations for many of us, and Parvati Valley without second thoughts is the hotspot of leisure stay and beautiful landscapes. Known as the Amsterdam of India, the valley is well known for the cultivation of charas.

👉 To begin with, why is it called Parvati Valley ?
Why, why, why ?????? Lets read about this 👇

It is said that Lord Shiva meditated in this valley for about 3,000 odd years. He is believed to have taken the form of a naga sadhu or a naked ash-smeared sanyasi.

Seasons came and went and one day he opened his eyes and looked at this untouched, beautiful landscape and named it Parvati after his consort.
