Transwomen in Women's Sports

Wednesday, I got into a long debate with a woman on twitter about trans-women in women's sports. My main concern was that trans children be able to have a normal experience participating in team sports such as soccer, or football, youth sports, etc. which with puberty blockers is something that can be achieved. My position on adults has been it really isn't fair for fully a developed, post pubescent male to transition & compete as an equal with natal females. If they wish to do so there needs to be height and weight classes, as in say boxing, or handicapping to make things equal. Then yesterday the title of this video caught my eye. This is going to make me real popular, I'm not sure it's possible for trans women to compete as equals with natal women.

It's Saturday morning and San Francisco is waiting to see what the unwanted racist as****es are going to do in our city. Last night they cancelled the permitted event at Chrissy Field "For fear of Antifa violence" but were going to hold a press conference at another unpermitted location, Alamo Park.
WTF?
I suspect the cops and other security forces had a handle on preventing a violent clash which is why they were there in the first place so they moved it. They want to show the Altright fighting in the heart of liberal America, at locations where San Francisco's iconic images provide the background (sorry, no Confederate statues). The important thing about this ruling for trans people is it offers some indication of what your rights are if your home state has issued a legal change of gender and find yourself in a state with bathroom restrictions.

The Supreme Court ruling states: “A state law may not disregard the judgement of a sister state because it disagrees with the reasoning underlying the judgement or deems it to be wrong on the merits.”

I was having lunch with a friend who is a provider of transgender health services yesterday. One of the things we talked about was transgender children. We talked about Zucker and Blanchard and she said something interesting; their research was actually pretty good but they approached the kids with the idea that they could fix them, which is what the kids' parents really wanted. On the other end of the spectrum there are parents that want to jump in, make the social transition (coming out) and put them into the opposite gender identity very quickly.

There actually are a good many kids that at an early age identify as the opposite gender but as they mature go back to their biological s*x. So how do we do what's right for the child?

My friends solution was to just let the kids figure it out from themselves. Let them wear the clothes they want and play with the toys they want but hold back on full social transition until the child is a little older and revisit the question. If they still insist they're still gender non-conforming, proceed with full social transition. Thoughts anyone?
