Postpartum care needs an UPGRADE. 😤Standard postpartum care in the U.S. includes just one appointment after birth, which seriously falls short of addressing the critical needs of new moms.
Postpartum depression rates spiked noticeably during the pandemic, affecting 1 in 5 U.S. moms and disproportionately impacting Black mothers.
Let's advocate for comprehensive postpartum care and address the social determinants of health for a healthier future. What's been your experience with postpartum care?
So we're all in agony right now, huh? 🤔 Video via butteredlovers on TikTok.
Are we thinking that'll happen this century..or...? 👀
Today, we honor the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a pivotal moment for reproductive rights. 51 years ago, it ignited hope for choice and autonomy. Here's what happened since. 👇
🗓️ 1984: The Global Gag Rule was introduced, which prevented foreign organizations that receive U.S. health aid from providing information on and referrals for abortions (or even advocating for abortion access).
🗓️ 1992: The landmark case Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey reaffirmed that the Constitution protects the right to abortion, but created a framework that would make it easier for state politicians to create restrictions.
🗓️ 2007: The Supreme Court upheld the first federal legislation to criminalize abortion, allowing Congress to ban certain second-trimester abortion procedures.
🗓️ 2016: The Supreme Court ruled that two Texas abortion restrictions were unconstitutional because they would shut down most abortion providers in the state. This was the strongest defense of abortion rights in 25 years.
🗓️ 2020: The Supreme Court struck down a medically unnecessary law that would have made abortion virtually inaccessible in Louisiana. This was the last time Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a chance to rule on abortion access before she died later that year.
🗓️ 2021: Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization was brought to the Supreme Court, dealing with a Mississippi law that bans abortion after 15 weeks.
🗓️ 2022: A leaked draft of the Supreme Court opinion indicated that the precedent set by Roe V. Wade would be overturned, leaving Americans without a constitutional right to abortion. A few months later, the official decision came out and did just that.
🗓️ 2023: By mid-year, 14 states introduced near-total abortion bans during any point in pregnancy, and 6 states implemented abortion bans with other limits from 6 to 20 weeks after a person’s last menstrual period.
TL;DR? 👉 While the majority of Americans support a
While the representation of abortion in television and film is increasing, storylines on screen often miss the crucial context that surrounds the real-life and complicated decision that impacts hundreds of thousands of women in the United States.
Pregnancy decision-making must be portrayed completely, accurately, and empathetically on screen because it has the power to open up real and honest discussions about the right to choose.

Ah, the timeless art of someone who can't handle a woman with an opinion. Gendered power dynamics at work can unintentionally (and sometimes intentionally) create an unjust workplace that perpetuates lower pay, inequality, and a permanent glass ceiling. ⬇️
Gentlemen, let's amplify all voices and create a workplace where everyone's contributions shine, mmk? Shout-out to the ones who are already doing it. 🫶
In 2024, our agenda is crystal ✨ clear: continue to untangle the mess of women's rights and gender equality. Follow along as we amplify important issues that demand our advocacy as we navigate the issues that somehow still need addressing.
What are the issues you're passionate about this year? Share your thoughts and let's make waves together!

Don't Tell a Woman to "Relax". Here's Why.
We're not doing a lot of things in 2024, but what's one thing everyone should stop doing? 🤬 Policing women's emotions, especially anger.
🚨News flash🚨 Women do not need to be warm, positive, and friendly at all times! Showing emotions like anger is actually a GOOD thing, contrary to what the patriarchy believes. It means we still give a sh*t.
If all we felt was indifference or complacency when we thought about gender inequity, abortion regulation, or any other issue... it would mean we expected and accepted those things as normal.
Has someone ever told you to "stop being so angry"? Tell us about it. ⬇️
