In Rajab we start preparing for Ramadan.

Here we looked at the life cycle of a tree.
Talked about different types of seeds we “could” plant.
Than we learned about the seeding process and what is involved in that process (weather, water, soil).
After we looked at trees on images and went outside to feel and touch the tree.

Talking recycling provides the opportunity for kids to learn about where products come from. How they are made. And how they can be reused.

We did this simple activity which also promotes letter recognition, fine motor skills, and sorting by attributes.

Emotional Intelligence 🧐🤓

Children haven’t yet learned how to regulate their emotions. But rather than wait for them to outgrow this phase, we can use this window to teach emotional literacy skills that will yield immediate and long-term benefits.

Increasingly, research confirms the efficacy of explicit training in emotional intelligence starting at a very young age. According to multiple studies, preschoolers who participate in social-emotional skills programs exhibit less aggression and anxiety and become better social problem solvers. While these outcomes may make for a more peaceful classroom environment, the benefits outlive preschool: prosocial behavior in early childhood is strongly linked with future academic performance and mental health. In other words, when children learn how to calm themselves down, use language to express their feelings and treat others with kindness, they are laying the foundation for future success and wellness.

Maanta Waa Maalintee? | What day is it today?

A question I got asked daily by my preschooler.

Learning the days of the week is a fundamental skill taught in early childhood. It helps us understand the passage of time and the concept of other words that surround them such as today, tomorrow and yesterday. Additionally, children will be able to begin to understand how the week is laid out before them. By knowing what day comes next, they'll be able to plan for various activities, subjects and events. This is great for encouraging positive organisational habits.

In Baro Shanta Tiir Ee Islaamka, Cilmi and Caaliya teach about the five pillars of Islam through a fun and interactive way.

Each pillar has a separate poems page where you can recite the poems with your children to aid memorisation and for some fun!

yearly celebration of the birth our beloved Prophet Muhammad – peace and blessings be upon him.

On this day, the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, Muslims around the globe gather to share food and sweets with each other, remind themselves of his love for us and send blessings upon him and his family.

The entire month is devoted to renewing our love and longing for him and is a cause for joy around the world.

Muhammad | The Praised One| مُحَمَّد‎

This name refers to the Prophet ‎ﷺ (pbuh) is a man whom people would praise for his beautiful qualities and characteristics. He ‎ﷺ (pbuh) is also praised by the Creator, Allah Almighty and His Angels, hence he is clearly by all means, “the praised one”. Allah Almighty also commands the believers to send praise the Prophet ‎ﷺ (pbuh) directly to the Quran.

Since the start of Rabil’ul Awwal deardaughters and I have been reading and learning about the seerah.

We did this through age appropriate reading/quiz/creating crafts etc.

If you show your child the best of examples in human history, in a way that captivates their heart and mind, they'll be on a sure path to that goal.
