I need some help.

Psychotherapist Susan Caso is an upcoming g guest on the SolFul Connections podcast. Susan serves, not only as a therapist to adolescents, couples, individuals and families, she serves in the area of teen su***de prevention as Mental Health Director of The Liv Project and as a Strategic and Technical Advisor for the award-winning film, My Sister Liv.

And now, drum roll please, Susan has written a book, The Parent-Teen Connection: How to Build Lifelong Family Relationships, due out on October 22.

And here is my question. What should I ask? I mean I have my own questions as the parent of two teens and one former teen. But I would love to hear what YOU want to know.

It takes courage to be vulnerable.

I am beyond thankful for the strength and openness of Eileen Martin, my very first guest of Season Five of the SolFul Connections podcast.

Eileen shares her story. And what a story.

Eileen has overcome significant trauma and continues to bravely face life’s challenges.

And guess what she just did.

She sold everything and moved to the UK.

I mean
what the what? You go, queen.

What is your story? Today, instead of worrying about your kids, your bills, politics, or the state of the world, take a minute to reflect on your journey. I bet your story is incredible. Celebrate how far you have come.

And please consider listening to the podcast. Put it on when you’re on the way to the grocery store, continue it as you’re doing the laundry.

Listen to the incredible journey of Eileen and, as you celebrate her resilience and fortitude, celebrate your own.

PS If you're not sure how to listen, I'll be sure to direct you in the comments.

Steve Hammond, scientist emeritus with the United States Geological Survey, has long known that he is a descendant of Martha Washington via her grandson and an enslaved woman. What impact does that have on Steve? He is connected to the closest thing the US has to royalty and the parts of our history that are deeply painful.

This legacy is both important historical information and profoundly personal. What it means to Steve and, ultimately, for the rest of us is just part of what we discuss in this episode of the SolFul Connections podcast.

Steve is sharing not only his own ancestral information. He is also helping to change the nation’s understanding of our past in his work with the Arlington House on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.

Our past informs our present, doesn’t it? It informs us in ways we understand and in ways that are more perplexing but equally important.

I love that Mara Smith started a tequila company. I’m inspired, which feels right since the company is called Inspiro Tequila.

I also love that Mara doesn’t only credit her accounting education, her years as a high-powered attorney, and her time as a corporate strategist with her success. She also credits life as a mom of three for honing her time management strategies, negotiating techniques, and communication skills.

Essentially, her entire life journey has prepared her for this.

Yet I also love that NOTHING could actually fully prepare Mara for life as the founder and leader of a company that produces tequila. Every day is an adventure to say the least. She has created a woman-owned company that elevates other women while producing a clean and delicious tequila that comes in (oh my goodness, wait until you see) exquisite packaging.

Listen in to this week’s SolFul Connections podcast. Mara is an interesting blend of pragmatism and big thinking, dreaming and doing. When you’re finished listening, you may not want to start your own tequila company, but you’ll feel inspired to start something! And you may want to plan it out while enjoying some great tequila.

Guys, Natalie Napoleon, Photographer and I are working on a digital workshop - Love Your Brand. We're really proud and excited about it.

But that isn't what this post is about. Our work caused me to think about writing. We can all write. We are all, essentially, writers... right?

Many of us are convinced that we don't have the writing chops to produce compelling material for our businesses. So, this quick podcast is for you, the self-doubters.

I had some thoughts (or a thought - like I said, this week's SolFul Connections is a short one) and here they are, all wrapped up in a mini podcast.

If you want to feel uplifted, cozy, inspired and connected, here is my advice. Show up early at Simons Fine Art Framing & Gallery and sit with Jane Ramsey over a cup of coffee (roasted by her husband!) and talk. While you are listening to Jane, look around at her exquisite art.

Then, take on the day, inspired to create your own moments that celebrate the life you are living and the people with whom you are doing life.

And, if you prefer to experience this connection, long distance from your car or your office or your kitchen, then check out this week's SolFul Connections podcast where Jane and I talk about life, art, family and intention.

My conversation with Jane Ramsey Fine Art fed my soul. I think it will do the same for you.

You know how sometimes in your life you just keep repeating the same patterns? Or, you want something different, but you can't seem to make a dramatic shift?

Have I got a book for you. Jonathan Hacohen, a self-described “JewBu” has written The Bible 3.0, The 6 Commandments of the Chosen Life: A Roadmap to Personal Success and Enlightenment.

This week’s SolFul Connections Podcast features my new friend Jonathan sharing a bit of his story and how he went from being a successful attorney to being an enlightened, healthy and successful, attorney, talk show host, author, and even more.

We talk about it all. Plus, there’s a recipe in it for you if you listen. 😉 And, not just a recipe for success. It's an honest to goodness delicious and healthy recipe.

I have two very special friends who are a source of positivity and possibility. It’s no wonder that decades ago, they were identified as Possibility Coaches. Their associates understood that within their compassion, insight and ability to help clients reach fuller potential, limitless possibilities could be found.

In today’s SolFul Connections podcast, my quest to understand happiness continues. And, who better to discuss it than the Possibility Coaches, otherwise known as Jon Satin & Chris Pattay.

I had numerous “Ah ha” moments. This conversation will change you. It may even set you on an exciting path.

Check out the show notes for a link to the Coaches upcoming program “The Essentials for Success & Happiness.”

I hadn’t read the book “The Choice” by Dr. Edith Eger back in 2020 when I created the website for SolFul Living. But, building products, publications, and platforms to help people to create lives of power, purpose and joy had become an inner drive of mine for many years.

When I read Dr. Eger's story of surviving Auschwitz, I was overcome by her ability to find joy and purpose in a life that was built on the ashes of loss.

Dr. Eger’s work and words are transformative. My friends Roseanne Griffiths, Loraine Sedergran Kilczewski and Linda Cunningham Puia and gathered to discuss how her life and wisdom can help us to live our own transformative and purpose-driven lives.

Listen in to this week's SolFul Connections podcast as we discuss the book The Choice. If you haven't read it, I encourage you to do so. I hope that checking in to this week's podcast (link in comments) will give you some food for thought about how to turn your own struggles and pain into power and purpose.

PS Victor Soler even joins us for a couple of minutes. Pay close attention and you can hear what he adds to the pod. 😉

When you listen to Stacey Mulholland talk about this week’s SolFul Connections podcast topic – grammar and typos (!) – a couple of things will strike you.

First of all, if you aren’t already her friend, you’ll wish you were. She is so authentic and engaging and intelligent. I absolutely adore her. And, you will too.

Secondly, you might think about your own perfectionism. Why do we feel the need to be perfect? And, why do we love catching other people in their not-so-perfect moments? Stacey calls it the “gotcha moment.”

In today’s podcast, we talk and laugh about typos, grammatical errors – others and our own. Beyond that, we talk about how screwing up is human and maybe we should all be a little gentler with one another.

Calling all grammar geeks and perfectionists! Link in comments.

First of all, how lucky am I that Brad Segall came on the SolFul Connections podcast?!

Brad Segall is well known for his voice. He spent years delivering the news and special stories on the radio in the Philadelphia region.

Brad came onto the SolFul Connections podcast from sunny Arizona! We talked about his professional journey, the importance of family, life’s twists and turns and transition!

I hope you listen in and think about the peaks and valleys of your own journey and how you handle life’s changes. As they say, the only constant is change. So, navigating change is a vital part of living a joyful life.

How does our past inform our present?

Who we were in the past
 who we are today
 the roads we have chosen
 the roads that chose us
It’s all kind of mysterious, isn’t it?

Artist, author and entrepreneur Monique Rardin Richardson and I explore the impact of a profound relationship upon her life on this week’s SolFul Connections podcast. That relationship is the subject of one of her books, “When Then Became Now.”

In this episode, we discuss Monique's unique journey. We also talk about addiction, friendship, family. And, we even explore homelessness and how we view unhoused people.
