It’s 2021 and you’ve made the decision to make Pinterest a priority.
Now before you go knee deep in keywords, pin design, board creating, the WORKS!, have you stopped to claim your website?
Claiming your website and other platforms like Etsy, Instagram, and Youtube is literally how Pinterest analyzes your pins performance so I hope you don’t skip this important step!
If you are a Wordpress user, here’s the easiest way I’ve found to claim your website:
🛼 In the settings of your Pinterest account, choose the claim tab on the left menu
🛼 Click claim website
🛼 Copy and paste the HTML tag (do not exit nor continue yet)
🛼 Open a new tab on your internet browser and go to the dashboard of your Wordpress site
🛼 Download the Yoast SEO plugin if don’t have it already
🛼 Once downloaded, hover over the Yoast SEO in the left menu and click “social”
🛼 Choose the Pinterest tab towards the top
🛼 Paste the code from Pinterest into the empty bar and click “save changes”
🛼 Go back to your Pinterest account and click continue on the menu
🛼 Enter your website URL and click verify
Now claim any other platforms you wish to receive analytics for (those processes do not require Yoast SEO and have their own set-up)

This blew my mind...
I have a moral obligation. Could that strike a chord any harder? Absolutely not.
I have been immersed in education this week learning from amazing women in business like , , INCREDIBLE women sharing something that can benefit thousands and millions of people.
I’m in a position where I love my job but don’t love it enough to do it forever.
Last year I wanted to chart a different path and that’s where I found Pinterest. I found something I’m good at but also have a passion for and turned it into a business.
Am I the best a Pinterest coach or manager in the world? Definitely not. But I do my job well enough and provide a unique experience for my clients and members that their willing to pay me to solve a problem for them. Win/win.
The reward goes both ways. If you share your knowledge and passions with people who need that problem solved, they will gladly pay you. GLADLY!
If you’re sitting at a day job that doesn’t light you up, doesn’t make you want to get out bed in the morning, and doesn’t fulfill you, what are you doing wasting your hours building someone else’s dream?
I give you permission to find your passion and then I will hold you accountable to share that glorious gift with people who need it.

Double tap if you LOVE Pinterest!
So many entrepreneurs, bloggers, and small business owners are realizing the power of Pinterest.
Pinterest is an amazing tool that can do wonders for your business, but if it is not used consistently, you’re not going to get your desired results.
Pinterest has made it clear that pinning 5-10 or 15-25 pins daily is better for your account than posting 80-100 pins in one day.
Pinterest wants to avoid spamming at all costs and overpinning is doing just that.
Remember that no one wants to be oversold to or overloaded with information, but slowly dripping out your content will gain the trust from your followers to let them know you are there for them without being pushy.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's post for part 2 as I share the #1 tool that helps me pin consistently!

Double tap of you want to master Pinterest this year!
The beauty of Pinterest marketing is that the industry is not shy of experts. This is an advantage to you because one can learn the best practices, tips, and strategies to succeed on the platform.
Here are 8 mistakes you may be making on Pinterest according to the experts.
🔥 You’re giving up too quickly: If you expect results in 3 months you’ll be disappointed. Businesses who are successful on Pinterest spend months pinning consistently and trying different strategies to get where they are now.
🔥 You don’t spend enough time on keyword research: keywords put you on the map. If you’re using keywords your target market isn’t using or better yet not using keywords at all you need to make this your top priority.
🔥 You’re not treating the platform like a search engine: Pinterest is a search engine with a social component.
🔥 You don’t really understand how the platform works: to succeed you must know what Pinterest expects of you as a contributor and follow their best practices.
🔥 You’re not following the trends: instead of making content you think your audience wants try following the Pinterest trends and make content that’s already popular.
🔥 You’re making it too complicated: don’t overthink it and start small. Baby steps will help you win the race.
🔥 You’re not putting in the work: if you think making a few pins and posting them is all there is to it then you’ve missed the mark. You must create a strategy involving the best practices to yield results.
🔥 You’re not being consistent: posting regularly is mandatory on Pinterest. Fresh pins and fresh content on various mediums are important to regularly create.
Drop a 🔥 in comments and let me know what which mistake you struggle with!

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 11 recap.
Yesterday was my last LIVE mini training. I talked all about relevancy and recency. These are two important factors to incorporate into your Pinterest marketing strategy.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
💝 Relevant content is based on who you follow, what your interests are, what you search for, and what you engage with on Pinterest.
💝 Keywords help Pinterest understand what content is relevant to you.
💝 Staying current on trends will help you get in front of your ideal audience because your keywords are updated and relevant.
💝 Recency is how recent your pin as been uploaded along with how current your price of content is. This refers to fresh pins.
💝 A new price of content paired with a new URL will perform the best on Pinterest.
💝 Creating consistent content will help you rank high in search results.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 10 recap.
I can’t believe there’s only one more training. Thank you so much for watching along these past 10 days.
Yesterday’s LIVE was all about quality content and checking out your competition. Just as so said you need to have great-looking pins, you must back that up with quality content. You also can follow and examine your competition to better your own strategy.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
🏂 Pinterest encourages pinners to publish new quality content consistently.
🏂 It’s wise to follow and even share your competition content.
🏂 Research keywords your competition is using under phrases you want to show up for. *Don’t copy but use those keyword phrases into your description and voice.
🏂 You can find keywords in their pin copy, pin title, and pin description for research.
🏂 Make sure to test keywords before you use them. Sometimes the results aren’t what you want your pin to show up for.
In the LIVE training I went through a few pins and how I would conduct my own research to improve the ranking of my pins.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.
If you already watched the replay drop a snowboard man 🏂 and let me know what you learned!

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 9 recap.
I can’t believe we are almost done with these mini trainings. It’s been very fun preparing these videos for you. I’ve loved all the questions so far.
Yesterday’s video was all about pin design. Remember that Pinterest is the most visually-delicious platform so it’s imperative we prioritize quality and creativity.
There are many elements to a pin that makes it great, but ultimately it comes down to the individual person and what their attracted and drawn to.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
⛸ Pin copy should always be readable. To accomplish this I make sure to use large fonts and avoid script text.
⛸ Always use quality photos or videos.
⛸ You don’t always have to use a photo, you can create a great pin with a colored or plain background. Just make sure to use captivating language and a strong CTA.
⛸ When creating pins, try to find ways to make your text or photo stand out. Changing fonts, adding color blocks, or animations can improve the look of your pin.
In the LIVE training I went through some pins that stood out to me and I explained why I liked them.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 8 recap!
Yesterday’s training was NOT so mini because it was filled with some yummy tips. We covered a lot of ground on the topic of pin copy and how important it is to provide the pinner with details and information so they know what to expect from you.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
🥧 Adding a text overlay provides more clarity as to what your pin is about.
🥧 Pin copy is another opportunity to add important keywords so your pin can be found.
🥧 Include a clear CTA on your pin to tell the pinner what will happen next when they click on your pin.
🥧 Brand your pins with your website, logo, and colors so your pinners can learn to recognize your pins. Branded photos are also less likely to be stolen and used by other shady users.
🥧 Pro tip: Avoid script fonts as Pinterest users may have a hard time reading it and the Pinterest visual reader may not be able to read it either and wrongly index your pin.
In the LIVE training I went through MANY examples of good and bad pin copy and everything in between.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.
If you already watched the replay drop a pie 🥧 and let me know what you learned!

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 7 recap!
In yesterday’s training I talked all about Pinterest descriptions. Pin descriptions are important to utilize for your pin to be found but also to give clarity as to what your pin is about.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
❄️ Never let your pin description be blank.
❄️ Never keyword stuff your pin descriptions with keyword phrases or hashtags.
❄️ Hashtags no longer have the same effect as they once did but it doesn’t hurt to add one broad hashtag for good measure.
❄️ Your pin description should state what your pin is about, provide benefits or results, and gave a call to action so they know how to take the next step with you.
❄️ It’s not necessary to use all the characters but write as much as you need to provide as much context as you think is needed to get your point across.
In the LIVE training I showed you a few examples of good and bad pin descriptions and how you can improve how you write what your pin is about.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.
If you already watched the replay drop a snowflake ❄️and let me know what you learned!
Don’t forget to watch all the videos and participate to be eligible to pin some prizes!

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 6 recap!
In yesterday’s training I discussed pin titles. Pin titles are another area where you should be using keyword phrases.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
☃️You should be titling your pin with keywords your ideal audience would be searching for.
☃️Pin titles should be different from your pin copy.
☃️ Always diversify your keywords so your pins can be found under a variety of phrases so it can be found by more people.
In the LIVE training I showed you a few examples of good and bad pin titles and how you can improve how you title your pins.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 5 recap!
Yesterday I talked about the search bar for 20 minutes! Yes the search bar and for 20 minutes. 😃 There are a lot of really cool features about search on Pinterest that you may not have known or been utilizing.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
🤶🏻As you search for keywords, pay attention to the bolded words that are suggested. These are important to notice from a business perspective because those are popular keywords phrases.
🤶🏻The guided search is a great way to see popular keywords and phrases that people are currently searching for. The father right you scroll, the less popular the phrase but also it may be more narrow. Also note that the guided search may not show up for all searches.
🤶🏻To the right of the search bar is a drop down menu that lets you explore more pins based on category such as all pins, your pins, video, people, and boards.
🤶🏻”All pins” let’s to see all the pins on the platform from your keyword search. “Your pins” let’s you filter pins that you’ve created or pinned specifically from that keyword search. This makes it really easy to find content under a topic you’ve pinned before.
🤶🏻”Video” will populate only video pins umbrella’d under that keyword phrase.
🤶🏻If you choose the “people” filter, only profiles will show up that use that keyword or phrase in their profile title or similar to.
🤶🏻If you choose the “board” filter, only board and group boards will show up. This is great to find a collection of pins under the same topic from other pinners.
In the LIVE training I showed you how to use the search bar, what the guided search looks like, and to use the filter option the right of the search bar to narrow down pins or people you want to find based on your keyword phrase.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.
If you already watched the replay drop a🤶🏻 and let me know what you learned!

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 4 recap!
Yesterday I spoke about the different kinds of content you can pin. It’s important to diversify your content as you never know what will resonate more with your Pinterest audience.
It’s also great for your people to see what you’re up to on different platforms and potentially follow you there as well. Pinterest is great for cross-promotion.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
👼🏼Long-form blog posts are standard to link to when sharing content from your website.
👼🏼Since you can claim other social media accounts like Instagram and YouTube, make sure to share your quality posts and videos straight to Pinterest.
👼🏼If you sell products on Etsy, you also have the ability to directly share your products onto Pinterest. A plus to doing this is the price will show as part of the description of the pin along with other metadata.
👼🏼To gain email subscribers, linking to a specific landing page where they can download your freebie should definitely be a part of your strategy. You’re providing something extremely valuable in exchange for their email address.
👼🏼If you want to build and expand your community link to your Facebook group. This is a great way to nurture a new audience and warm them up to you and your offers.
👼🏼Podcast episodes are also a great way for your audience to discover you. I suggest linking to a blog post that’s housed on your website with the show notes and the episode player directly in the post rather than linking to apple podcasts or another website that isn’t your own.
In the LIVE training I showed you what different pins and posts look like if you linked to one of the above content examples. I even shared a common annoyance that I have and many others have if you’re a food blogger.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.
If you already watched the replay drop an angel 👼🏼 and let me know what you learned!

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 3 recap!
Yesterday I spoke about claiming your accounts on Pinterest in the settings section. There are a few different platforms you can claim such as your website, Instagram, Etsy, YouTube, and a Shopify store.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
⭐️ Claiming your accounts gives you access to analytics to see how well your pins are performing.
⭐️ By claiming multiple accounts you’re letting people know where they can see more of you. *It’s so important to diversify your content and give your audience a great experience.
⭐️ If you sell products, consider applying for the “Verified Merchant Program” to easily share your products.
⭐️ To easily claim your website, use the Yoast SEO plugin (for Wordpress).
⭐️ You’ll know your website is claimed when you see a globe + checkmark to the left of your URL.
In the LIVE training I took you through a serious of pins showing you what a claimed account looks like and as a bonus showing you what the Verified Merchant Program looks like.
If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group “Pinterest for Beginners” to watch today’s and previous videos.

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 2 recap!
I’m having so much fun doing these LIVE mini trainings for you! I’m really enjoying the content I’m sharing and hope you are too.
Yesterday I talked about 5 different pins you can incorporate into your strategy. Each pin has a specific purpose and I hope after today’s training you will try a few next time you go to make pins.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
🎄Static pin: this is the post popular pin and one you’ll see 95% of the time on your home feed.
🎄Carousel pin: this pin is very similar to Instagram’s carousel pin as you can upload up to 5 images. Pinners can swipe through and click through to a website. This type of pin is great for providing strong, quality content that’s easily digestible.
🎄Video pin: these are becoming more popular and for good reason. Pinterest wants pinners to add more video pins. Video pins stand out in the feed and make for an enjoyable user experience. Pinterest has a loose definition of video so even adding animations like blinking graphics can transform your pin to video.
🎄Story pin: these pins are also very similar to Instagram’s however you cannot link back to a website. Story pins are great to show a collection of products or a process/tutorial. You can add static or videos to story pins which take the pinner on a journey. Remember to include a strong CTA as your final pin.
🎄Promoted pins: these pins are great for established Pinterest users who have content that is already performing well on the platform. While it is far easier and cheaper to run a Promoted pin campaign, I suggest waiting till you have more experience or work with a manager to help you get the most of the campaign.
In the LIVE training I showed what each of the 5 pins look like and how to spot them in your feed. If you’d like to watch the replay, head over to my FREE Facebook group Pinterest for Beginners to watch today’s and previous videos.
If you already watched the replay drop a🎄and let me know what you learned!

The 12 Days of Pinterest Day 1 recap!
Yesterday I went LIVE in my Facebook group taking about the importance of a business account if you want to sell or promote anything on Pinterest.
Having a business account has many benefits on of which gives you access to amazing business features.
Here’s a quick summary of what you missed:
🎅🏻 A business account is actually required in order to promote your business on the platform.
🎅🏻 With a business account you have access to analytics that share important data from your claimed account in how well your pins are performing.
🎅🏻 You can enable Rich pins which provides additional information on your pins. This metadata comes from your website.
🎅🏻 You can claim your website which then adds the verified checkmate.
🎅🏻 You have access to run a Promoted Pins campaign to promote pins that to a larger audience.
If you’d like to watch the replay head over to my FREE Facebook group Pinterest for Beginners to watch.
If you already watched the replay drop a Santa 🎅🏻 and let me know what you learned!

I have high energy.
I’m loud, bubbly, a horrible speller, sometimes use big words the wrong way, and desperately want to be validated.
When I started my business, I was immediately drawn to the way specific people did business because they’re successful. I learned the hard way that they were being true to themselves while I was being the big, fat copy-cat.
It wasn’t until I embraced my loud, high energy self that I started to have more fun teaching, sharing and making more money. It actually really bothers me looking back thinking I could be anyone BUT myself. 🙄
Here’s the lesson —> ALWAYS. BE. YOURSELF. Everyone else is taken.

Double tap if you want more people to click on your pins.
Pinterest is a strategy game and you’ve got to know the rules in order to win.
You’re content is always competing with multiple pins so it’s important you’re incorporating pin design strategies to increase your pins click-through rate.
1. Your pins should always be addressing who your content is for. Is it for busy moms, creative entrepreneurs, elementary teachers? Using adjectives is a great way to get specific on your target audience.
2. Using buzz words is an opportunity to entice the pinner to take action. Words like “ultimate, easy, diy, and fast” are words that can help the Pinterest understand what your content is about.
3. Having a clear call-to-action is one of the most important things you can include on your pin. You want the pinner to know exactly what to do so there is no confusion. Some examples might be, “download now, read more, listen here”.
4. Pinterest is pushing for more video content, so if you add animations, they become video pins. Pro tip: When Pinterest rolls out something new or is pushing for a specific kind of pin (video and sorry pins), make sure to add it into your strategy.
5. Most Pinterest users are viewing on mobile devices so it’s important to note that your text overlay should be large enough to read. You should also note that specific fonts (script fonts) have a tendency to be hard to read not only from pinners but from Pinterest’s image technology.

The Pinterest Manager You Didn’t Know You Needed
Hi! I’m Melanie. A wife, golden retriever mom, and traveler.
I have been working online as an education teacher for the last four years. My teaching hours are in the morning, so my afternoons were available to do anything I want. I knew I could be doing more with my time, so I decided to put my online skills in the digital space to good use! I already had the work from home life, so becoming a Pinterest Manager was perfect for me!
I’m not going to lie and say I just wanted to be creative, or more fulling with my time. While those things are true, I knew with some of the events happening in my life, I needed to add an extra income.
You see, for the past 5 years, I have been struggling with fertility and just this March, I found out the only way I can start my family is to go through IVF. As you may be aware, this kind of method is extremely expensive. By becoming a Pinterest Manager, not only can I help meet your business goals, but I can meet my financial goals.
Starting this business venture is not just a means to an end, but truly a business I want to grow, especially when a future family presents itself. I want to put all my efforts, passion, and skills to help business owners market their content, increase traffic to their website, and along the way, form meaningful and trusting relationships.
Effective February 2020, I enrolled in the Virtual Assistant Internship Program. This program introduced me to Pinterest managing and helped me find my passion and expand my skills and knowledge in the digital space.
I take the overwhelm and frustration out of Pinterest marketing, so YOU can focus on creation.
