Law enforcement arrested Portable for unpaid G-Wagon installment

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command apprehended the well-known musician, Habeeb Okikiola, commonly referred to as Portable, due to his failure to settle the debt from his acquisition of a G-Wagon from a local car seller in the state.

Portable is alleged to be in possession of a vehicle valued at N27m, having paid only N13m and not yet settled the remaining balance of N14m.

A statement from State Police Public Relations Officer, has confirmed that Portable has been apprehended.

“Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today,”He said.

VIDEO: BREAKING: Alleged Oodua Nation Agitators Arrested After Gun Duel With Police, Amotekun In Oyo Secretariat

Some Policemen have arrested a number of perceived Oodua Nation agitators, who attacked the Oyo State Secretariat in the early hours of Saturday.

The agitators, who were dressed in military uniform, engaged in fierce gun duel with the local Amotekun and Operation Burst personnel before they were eventually overpowered.

As at the time of filing this report, reasons behind the attack launched on the State’s Secretariat was not yet known.

PHOTOS: Lagos Taskforce Seizes 952 Motorcycles In Two Weeks

The Lagos State Taskforce has impounded no fewer than 952 motorcycles, also known as okada, within two weeks in different areas of the state.

PUNCH Online reports that the taskforce impounded 344 motorcycles on January 14, and 355 motorcycles on January 23 for plying restricted routes and vowed to end the operations of the recalcitrant bike riders in the state.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, revealed that 253 motorcycles were impounded on Thursday.

According to him the exercise which took place along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway was directed by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye, who disclosed that these set of operations were "warnings to okada operators but they obviously fell on deaf ears".

In the statement, Jejeloye described Apapa-Oshodi Expressway as a take off point for okada operators who violate Lagos State Traffic laws by operating in the area where okada operations have been banned outrightly.

It read, “We have been to this particular location about twice because of the sensitivity of the corridor and routes it connects.

"However, our leniency has been taken for granted by these okada operators and perpetrators of illegalities in this area who feel we are oblivious of their activities. We have surprised them today and confiscated all bikes that operate here. I am sure they would have gotten the picture by now”.

Jejeloye also warned illegal vendors of petroleum products who deal in the sale of petrol on the highways saying that their days of engaging in such illegalities are numbered.

Moment Akeredolu's Body Arrives From Germany

The body of the late governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, arrived in Nigeria from Germany today.

The body was received by family and friends while the governor of Lagos state, Ogun state, and Osun sent their representatives.

Akeredolu, aged 67, passed away on December 27 morning while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer in a German hospital.
