This week, Star Wars fans will be treated to the premiere of the second season of The Mandalorian on Disney+. Well, to celebrate, a number of new goodies have been announced for the hit series including DLC for the recently released Star Wars: Squadrons and figures from Hasbro. There’s also a deal from Bandai where if you purchase the Meisho Ronin Mandalorian by November 24, you’ll get a 15% off coupon for more Star Wars Meisho figures and a free pin over at Bluefin.

EA will be launching the new free DLC for Squadrons on October 28. It will feature 8 earnable cosmetic items to display in your cockpit, 4 per faction. Each faction will get a new hologram, decal, dashboard flair, and hanging flair. Most fans will probably be most excited that they can now add a bobblehead of The Child do their dashboard.

Next are the new toys from Hasbro. We’ve got an assortment of figures being added to the 3.75” Retro Collection including the Mandalorian (exclusive to Walmart), Cara Dune, IG-11, Kuill, The Child, Moff Gideon, and Greef Karga. Each of these will be available in Spring 2021 for $9.99 each.

Fans of The Child will be excited to head over to shopDisney this fall and grab the animatronic version of the character along with a carrier for $79.99. The figure can make 25 different sounds and raise its hand while closing its eyes as if using the Force. The carrier can be used as a shoulder bag, chest bag, and even a blanket.

Finally, Monopoly: Star Wars The Mandalorian Edition will launch this Fall for $49.99. Play as The Mandalorian, Cara Dune, IG-11, or Kuill as you protect The Child from the Empire. As a bonus, the game comes with a 3.75” figure of the Remnant Stormtrooper from the Retro Collection. You can grab a copy from Hasbro Pulse and shopDisney.

Another photo from the set of James Cameron’s Avatar 2 has been shared, and it features Kate Winslet performing underwater. As you can see, it looks like she’s spreading her wings.

It can’t be easy acting underwater like that! These actors have to do a lot of hard work to pull this stuff off. When previously talking about her underwater work on the film and the character she plays, she told THR:

“I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar, and that was just incredible. My longest breath hold was seven minutes and 14 seconds, like crazy, crazy stuff. I play a water person. I am a water person.”

We’ll eventually find out what exactly a water person is, but in the meantime, check out the image and just let your imagination go wild on what a water person might be.

Producer Jon Landau previously talked about the upcoming sequel and what we can expect from it, teasing:

“This is the story of the Sully family and what one does to keep their family together. Jake and Neytiri have a family in this movie, they are forced to leave their home, they go out and explore the different regions of Pandora, including spending quite a bit of time on the water, around the water, in the water.”

Avatar 2 is set several years after Avatar. “At the center of each of our four movies will be the Sully family. Each sequel will play as a standalone movie. Each movie’s story will come to its own conclusion… However, when looked at as a whole, the journey across all four movies will create an even larger connected epic saga for audiences around the world.”

When talking about the setting for the upcoming sequels, the producer said:

“As we’ve moved on with the sequels to Avatar we made a very conscious decision to stage the whole four sequels on Pandora. We don’t need to go to another world if we want water, we’re going to go to the oceans of Pandora.

”It’s a continuation of the same characters, but what happen when warriors that are willing to go on su***de charges, and leap off cliffs on to the back of big orange toruks, what happens when they grow up and have their own kids? It becomes a very different story. Now the kids are the risk-takers and the change-makers. So, it’s interesting, but it makes sense to me. Everybody’s either a parent, or they had parents at the very least, and if you look at the big successful franchises now, they’re pretty much uninterested in that.”

It was also revealed that there are different clans of Na’vi all over Pandora:

“We’re going to go to totally different environments, we’re going to meet different cultures. Just like our planet is as diverse culturally as we are environmentally. We want to introduce people to different cultures. In the first movie, we only met the Omaticaya clan, and they are the clan here allowing us to come to the Valley of Mo’ara. But as we venture out we’re going to different environments and different clans.”

The Avatar sequels also star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, and Matt Gerald. New cast members include Michelle Yeoh, Vin Diesel, Jemaine Clement, and Oona Chaplin.

James Cameron’s Avatar 2 will be released in theaters on December 16th, 2022.

In these days of Xbox Series versus PS5, it’s hard to think of any other consoles being released. Well, Atari has a new treat coming out soon for fans. They recently unveiled the Atari VCS console/PC hybrid. The VCS features a console device to connect to your television, wireless controllers, over 100 classic Atari games, upcoming games to add to your library, and the ability to stream. All of this with support for 60fps at 4K resolution!

Now, when the Atari VCS launches next month, it will only have access to Atari Vault and some mystery games that haven’t been announced yet. However, there’s more that this little machine can do. The VCS will have the ability to dual boot into a PC mode which will let you install a 2nd OS like Windows and run programs like Steam.

The VCS is available to pre-order through Atari, GameStop, and Walmart now for $389.99. Inside the console you’ll find a 32GB eMMC storage drive (there’s support for external devices and even cloud services), 8GB of RAM, the AMD Raven Ridge 2 APU, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4/5GHz, and Bluetooth 4.0. The console comes with a wireless controller and wireless Atari joystick, but you can also connect a mouse and keyboard if you prefer.
