Text: Ecclesiastes 4:1, Lamentations 1:16
Theme: YOU NEED THE HOLY GHOST
Memory verse: "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."(John 14:26)
Any plans to occupy till the Master comes without the Holy Ghost will amount to an exercise in futility. This is because the Holy Ghost is the enabler of all things.
He is the One that provides the enablement to do all things. To be able to live holy and righteous and live according to the will and commandments of God, we need
the Holy Ghost. To be able to show love, kindness and mercy, we need the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the Comforter in times of trials and temptations and persecutions. When we are down thinking that all is gone, we draw strength from the Holy Ghost to keep going. The Holy Ghost is also the Revealer of every secret thing or plot of the enemy against us. The Holy Ghost is also a Teacher who teaches us all things. Moreover, the Holy Ghost is the power behind every believer. In fact, without the Holy Ghost, we can do nothing.
From all the above functions of the Holy Ghost, we can see that it is impossible to operate in the fullness of God's power without the Holy Ghost. That is why you need the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ having this understanding of the need for the Holy Ghost assured His disciples that He would send them the Comforter. He understood all the trials, tribulations and persecutions they were going to face after He had gone, hence, the decision to send them the Holy Ghost. Even in this present world today, believers go through intense suffering and hardship and many fall by the wayside because of the absence of the power of the Holy Ghost.
Apart from these unpalatable experiences faced by believers on a daily basis, we are also confronted by the attractions, distractions and deceptions of the world and its material benefits. It is therefore obvious that without the Holy Ghost or else, a dead end awaits us.
What is that evil habit you have been battling with over the years without success? What is that battle confronting you that you have done virtually everything to overcome to no avail? Now is the time to contact the Holy Ghost for
an eventual resolution if you really mean to occupy. In case you are confused about how to contact the power of the Holy Ghost, first give your life to Jesus Christ because in Him resides the power. You cannot operate in that power from the outside.
Worship/praise God and then take
the following prayer points:
1. O God, release the power of the Holy Ghost upon my life, in Jesus name.
2. Any power hindering me from occupying till the Master comes, bow to the superior fire power of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name.
3. Holy Spirit of the living God, fight all my battles and give me victory, in Jesus name.
4. Any evil spirit and demon contending with the anointing power of God upon our G. O and Mummy in the Lord, submit to the superior fire power of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus name.
5. Every demon of war bragging against our nation, receive demolition by the Holy Ghost fire, in Jesus name.
