🛣The Coastal Highway will be connected via bridges at the planned 400 hectares Mactan North Reclamation Project and 100 hectare Reclamation project in Punta Engaño thru its reclaimed islands.

🛣Mayor Junard Ahong Chan meets with Philipine Coast Gaurd Commodore Genito B. Basillo to discuss the planned coastal highway since the project will also traverse the property owned by Philippine coast gaurd.

Phase 1 involves the first runway and a passenger capacity of 25 million passengers per year. The entire plan will see the airport expand to four runways and with a passenger capacity of 130 million annually, serving demand up to 2050.

CONSTRUCTION OF SAN FERNANDO PORT TO START IN JANUARY 2022

The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) has announced that the construction of San Fernando Port Project at Brgy. Poblacion, San Fernando, Cebu will begin in January 2022.

This, after CPA has completed the procurement activities after three (3) failed biddings and after it has received the approval for the award of contract to WTG Construction and Development Corporation from the Cebu Port Commission during its regular board meeting Friday, 26 November 2021.

This project will be funded by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and has an approved budget for the contract (ABC) of Php 336,114,557.47 for the demolition of the existing dilapidated port and the construction of a new roro facility in Barangay Poblacion, San Fernando.

CPA General Manager Leonilo Miole said the CPA will issue the Notice of Award, sign the contract and then issue the Notice to Proceed to immediately start the groundwork and construction this January 2022.

During the opening of bids held last 5 October 2021, four bidders submitted their bid documents namely: Vicente T. Lao Construction, WTG Construction and Development Corporation, BNR Construction and Development Corporation and the joint venture between RCDG Construction Corp., BSP & Company Inc. and Great Swiss Metal Builders Corporation.

After the preliminary examination and evaluation of bids, only the bids of WTG Construction and Development Corporation and BNR Construction and Development Corporation were declared eligible.

WTG Construction and Development Corporation submitted the lowest bid price of PhP 335,014,472.15. After the detailed Bid Evaluation and Post-Qualification proceedings, WTG Construction and Development Corporation was declared as the bidder with the lowest calculated and responsive bid.

The project is expected to be completed in May 2023.

Once completed, the facility will form part of the Central Spine Roro Route Project of the DOTr that aims to make sure that Roro (roll on, roll off) facilities are in place to cater to trade and tourism needs and maintain inter-island connectivity.

San Fernando Port Project is expected to cater to vessels plying from the town to Tubigon and Jagna ports in Bohol, to the municipalities of Mambajao and Mahinog in Camiguin and then finally stop at harbors in Balingoan and Cagayan de Oro in Misamis Oriental.

LAGUNA LAKE EXPRESSWAY(CALAMBA TO METRO MANILA)🛣️

•Detailed Design Of 37.60-km Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project or also known as the Laguna Lakeshore Expressway D**e to begin in December

•The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the start this December 2021 of the detailed engineering design (D.E.D.) for the proposed Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project (LLRN).

•This after DPWH Acting Secretary Roger "Oging" Mercado with Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain; UPMO Roads Management Cluster 2 Project Director Sharif Madsmo H. Hasim; and Department Chief Accountant Mary Antoinette Z. Puno signed on November 22, 2021 the Consultant’s Services Contract for the D.E.D. of LLRN Project - Phase 1, a new road network at the western side of the Laguna Lake connecting Lower Bicutan, Taguig City and Calamba City, Laguna with a main alignment of 37.60 kilometers.

•The parties to the contract agreement to conduct the D.E.D. are Dr. Jovito Santos of Lead Consultant CTI Engineering International (CTII) Co., Ltd.; Junichiro Minobe of Chodai Co., Ltd.; Takashi Sato of Oriental Consultants Global Co., Ltd.; and Tenkoh Yoshida of Nippon Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd with CTII President & CEO Takahiro Mishina and DPWH UPMO Overall Project Manager for Asian Development Bank (ADB) Projects Soledad R. Florencio as witnesses. These companies are first ranked joint venture firm in the procurement on August 25, 2021 of Consultancy Services for the D.E.D..

•The ceremonial signing of Consultancy Contract was also attended by Country Director for the Philippines Mr. Kelly Bird and Southeast Asia Project Officer Mr. Shuji Kimura of ADB; LLRN Team Leader Project Manager Zenaida B. Mauhay; Project Manager Sol Abasa; and other officer of Associate Firms Angel Lazaro and Associates International, DCCD Engineering Corporation, TCGI Engineers, and KRC Environmental Services.

•The LLRN Project will strengthen road transport efficiency towards Metro Manila and neighboring regions and will provide added opportunities to stakeholders - more jobs will be created; traffic will be decongested; movement of goods and services will be a lot easier; and so much more benefits, said Undersecretary Sadain.

•Under the contract agreement amounting ₱135.485 Million, the D.E.D. will be carried out for 15 months between December 2021 to February 2023.

•The D.E.D. will be funded by an additional financing of the ADB’s Infrastructure Preparation and Innovation Facility (IPIF) under loan number 3886-PHI.

•Upon strong representation of DPWH-UPMO, LLRN Project was approved by the NEDA ICC - Technical Board on March 17, 2021, and by the NEDA ICC - Cabinet Committee on September 27, 2021. The project was approved by the NEDA Board through an Ad Referendum on October 18, 2021.

The Japanese press recently went on a frenzy over its country’s 150-year-old company’s move to underwrite approximately $61.36 million in equity in LBS Digital Infrastructure Corp. (LBSD), a wholly owned Filipino tower company.

Market analysts view this latest Sojitz Corp.’s maneuver as a sign of an economic boom in the rapidly growing Philippine telecom sector. Sojitz could not have chosen a better tower company. LBSD has been one of the country’s leading cell tower builders, which has practically built and operated majority of the industry’s cell towers.

In its marker disclosure, Sojitz sees significant growth in the country’s telecom market. It regards the industry as one of the most promising markets in Asia in terms of the telecom tower business.

Developments to the 45.5-kilometer with 2.3-kilometer twin tunnels of the Davao City Bypass Road.

The contractors of the package I-1 with a length of 10.7-kilometer was awarded to Shimizu-Ulticon-Takenaka Joint Venture last year.

It will be implemented under a P13.230-billion fund. And will be constructed within 37 months or 3-years.

The entire bypass road with a total length of 45.5 kilometers is divided into six packages – I-1 (10.7 kms), I-2 (12.8 kms), I-3 (6.1 kms), II-1 (2.7 kms), II-2 (3.5 kms), and II-3 (9.7 kms).

The entire Davao City Bypass Road will begin in Brgy. Sirawan, Toril, Davao City and will end in Brgy. J.P. Laurel, Panabo City, Davao Del Norte.

A total of 56 equipment from Japan, France and Korea are now available on site that includes two batching plant at the north and south portal, and several tunneling equipment such as horizontal boring machine and tools, twin header base machine/crawler excavator, twin header attachment, erecter with shotcrete machine, drill jumbo, and tunnel ventilation and dust collector, wheel loader, truck mixers and water truck.
