Over 200,000 French fans have signed an online petition calling for the World Cup final to be replayed, owing to what they see as mistakes by the referee.

Sunday's centrepiece saw Argentina win on penalties against France after a thrilling 3-3 draw in Qatar. Some considered it to be a showcase of some of the best football that the sport has to offer.

However, a number of seething fans of the losing side have put their name to MesOpinions, an online petition website, saying that the match must be replayed because they think the referee was conned twice for Argentina goals.

() -- A woman with a firearm held a Walmart employee hostage at gunpoint inside a Mississippi store ... causing cops to race to the scene and take lethal action.

The nightmare situation played out Wednesday night at a Walmart in Richland, MS ... video from inside the store shows a woman holding a gun in one hand and grabbing hold of a Walmart employee with the other.

As you can see, the Walmart worker looks terrified as she's ordered around the store by the woman with the gun.

Police say they responded to a report of a hostage situation and an officer ended up shooting and killing the suspect. Cops say no one else was hurt in the incident, and now the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is on the case.

It's unclear why the woman took a Walmart employee hostage ... but cops say they were told the suspect walked into the store with a gun and demanded news crews show up.

Folks who were there told local TV news station WAPT they were ordered outside the busy Walmart before hearing gunshots.

According to Billboard, defense attorneys for one of the four men charged with the 2018 murder and robbery of ###Tentacion have listed a handful of notable rappers and celebrities - including Drake, Quavo, Offset, late Migos rapper Takeoff, Tekashi 6ixine and Joe Budden

The amended witness list was submitted by Miami defense attorney Mauricio Padilla, who is representing

Ash Ketchum and his loyal Pikachu are set to leave the anime show after 25 years.

On Friday, producers said a new-look series will begin in April 2023.

Actress Sarah Natochenny, who has provided the English voice for Ketchum and various other characters since 2006, said it had been "an extraordinary privilege".

"No matter what lies beyond his final chapter, he'll live forever in the hearts of many generations to come."

The Japanese anime show, which has also spawned several movies, has followed Ketchum in his quest to become a Pokemon master trainer since 1997, when the character met electric mouse creature Pikachu on his 10th birthday.

And last month, he finally completed his quest when he won the Pokemon World Championship.

The show will introduce two fresh protagonists from next spring - a young girl named Liko and a boy named Roy, who will be accompanied by three Paldea starter Pokemon.

An anonymous cyberbully who harrassed a teen for a year has been revealed to be her mother.

According to 9810 News, police arrested a Mount Pleasant woman for catfishing two teens, one of which was her own daughter. Police say 42-year-old Kendra Licari used software to hide her location and send harassing messages. Licari was the Beal City girls basketball coach at the time.

She is "charged with five counts, two for stalking a minor, two for using a computer to commit a crime and one for obstruction of justice."

() -- Florida officer collapses after possible exposure to fentanyl, police say

After pulling over a vehicle just after midnight, Tavares Police Officer Courtney Bannick said she discovered narcotics on a passenger inside the vehicle. Shortly after the passenger was taken into custody to be transported to the Lake County Jail, Bannick began to experience difficulty breathing, according to the police department.

"It could’ve been just a gust of wind that went into her tear duct or near her mouth or nose. It could’ve got on her arm and she went to wipe the sweat. It could’ve been anything, but she followed proper procedure," said Coursey.

There’s been an ongoing debate between law enforcement and some in the medical community who say it’s nearly impossible to overdose on fentanyl at crime scenes. They point to studies done by the American College of Medical Toxicology which conclude that incidental contact with the drug is not enough to cause an overdose.

() -- A Florida man allegedly threw a Christmas tree at his wife during an argument that was sparked when she asked him to help make dinner, authorities said.

Richard Atchison, 52, “lost his temper” in the couple’s Fruitland Park home Monday evening after his wife asked for help and put a spoon in the sink, accidentally splashing him with water, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by FOX 35 Orlando.

Atchison packed his things and went outside to his vehicle, before returning home because “he had been drinking” and told his wife to leave instead.

When the wife tried to go, deputies say Atchison shoved her, picked up a Christmas tree that was in the corner of the room and threw it at her, striking her. He then allegedly blocked the front door to prevent her from leaving.

Atchison was booked on domestic battery charges and taken to the Lake County Jail without incident.

Megan Thee Stallion says she wishes Tory Lanez "would've just killed" her. According to TMZ, Megan Thee Stallion direct examination continued Tuesday afternoon, and it got even more emotional than her initial morning testimony -- with her touching on the impact this case has had on her ... including the notion that she wishes she was dead instead of having to deal with this today.

MTS teared up a lot during this second half, and she said she was having a hard time having to sit across from Tory Lanez ... whom she, again, insisted was the one who shot her. Megan explicitly repeated that she saw Tory with the gun, and didn't see Kelsey Nicole with it.
Megan described how the aftermath has been, perhaps, even more difficult ... noting that her speaking up against Tory has put a target on her back in a male-dominated rap industry, where guys are prone to take Tory's side by default ... and that slut-shaming/ misogynoir would wrongly ensue against her.
Meg also said this.

() -- The couple that banks together stays together.

That's the finding of a Cornell University/University of Colorado study that found that couples who have joint bank accounts often have happier relationships. The study found that 62% of couples who had a joint account also spent money in the same way.

"We studied thousands of couples and looked both at their transaction data, as well as surveys over many years studying their relationship satisfaction. And what we found is that couples who have joint accounts, they stay together longer," Joe Gladstone, assistant professor of marketing at University of Colorado, told Yahoo Finance Live ( video above) about his research.

Further, the benefits of pooling money together was "particularly strong among couples with scarce financial resources," the study found.

"They're more satisfied in those relationships. But they also spend money differently, in that they tend to spend more on sensible, utilitarian stuff and less on hedonic, kind of fun stuff," Gladstone said.

Gladstone added that the couples often choose to have a joint bank account out of convenience before they marry.

"I think what the interesting part here is that when couples decide to pool their finances, they're probably not thinking about what effect that's going to have on their happiness, right? They're thinking, 'I want to pool money because it's convenient or because we're getting married and this makes a lot of sense'. But there might be these downstream consequences to happiness that they haven't really thought about. It is a meaningful, significant, and consistent effect," Gladstone told Yahoo Finance Live.

According to recent reports, Frank Ocean is reportedly hanging up his mic for good and officially retiring from music.

It’s been six years since the singer’s last album Blonde, and if the reports are true, it could well be where the story ends.

In a recent interview with The Week, Frank Ocean talks about his career in jewelry and leaving the studio.

"It's funny because one of the things that was important for me especially with this kind of project was to counteract what I feel is popular today, that is being everywhere and everything for everyone all at once," he said. "Not the movie but yeah, this type of multiverse multi-discipline multi-task artist... we did not end up counteracting it totally, as our heads still do spin and we're interested in so much. But for now, we make diamonds, and no telling what next. Twenty years of my life was about song-writing and recording music. I'd been in the studio since I was 12-and-a-half years old. () -- Surveillance footage of a fatal shootout involving New Mexico State basketball player Mike Peake has been released.

Peake got into a brawl involving students from in-state rival University of New Mexico when the two schools played each other in football in October. When New Mexico State traveled to New Mexico for a basketball game that was scheduled for Nov. 19, Peake was lured into what he believed would be a sexual encounter by a 17-year-old girl and was ambushed by three men in apparent retaliation for the fight at the football game.

The video shows Peake being attacked by a man with a baseball bat and as he ran away he became embroiled in a shootout with the assailants. Peake was shot in the leg and sustained injuries that has required multiple surgeries. In the crossfire, he shot and killed 19-year-old Brandon Travis.

Peake has not been charged with a crime in the incident.

One of the assailants was charged with aggravated battery, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to commit a felony. The girl who lured Peake was charged with aggravated battery and conspiracy.
