Cosmos Redshift 7 Galaxy's abbreviation (CR7) was inspired by the famous footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, who is also popularly known as CR7.

Cosmos Redshift 7 (CR7) is a distant galaxy that holds the record for being one of the oldest and most distant galaxies ever observed. It existed when the universe was only about 800 million years old, which is less than 6% of its current age.

Its discovery provides valuable insights into the early universe and the processes that drove the formation of galaxies in the early stages of cosmic history.

Humans pumped so much Earth's groundwater that have caused Earth's tilt to change by about 31 inches, according to a study. This shift in tilt could worsen the impacts of climate change.
Water has power. So much power, in fact, that pumping Earth’s groundwater can change the planet’s tilt and rotation. It can also impact sea-level rise and other consequences of climate change.

Scientists at the University of California, Irvine, have made a groundbreaking discovery regarding air pollution. Their research has revealed that a powerful electric field existing between water droplets suspended in the air and the surrounding atmosphere can lead to the formation of hydroxide (OH) molecules through a previously unknown mechanism.

The newfound understanding of this process is significant because hydroxide (OH) plays a crucial role in the removal of various pollutants from the air, including greenhouse gases and other harmful chemicals. In the realm of atmospheric chemistry, OH molecules act as initiators for reactions that break down airborne pollutants. They contribute to the elimination of noxious substances like sulfur dioxide and nitric oxide, which are toxic gases, from the Earth's atmosphere.

India successfully launched Chandrayaan-3. All the things were gone as planed, a great milestone for ISRO. All the modules are separated successfully and made their way towards the Moon 🌕.
Chandrayaan-3 will reach the Moon in 23 August. Next challenging step for ISRO is the safe landing of Chandrayaan-3.

According to a recent study published in the journal Nature on July 7, scientists have made an intriguing discovery on the far side of the Moon. They have found a massive heat-emitting granite structure, stretching approximately 31 miles (50 kilometers) beneath the lunar surface. This finding is quite surprising because granite is scarce in the solar system beyond Earth, and until now, only small granitic grains have been identified in lunar samples collected during the Apollo missions.

The presence of such a significant amount of granite suggests the possibility of similar formations existing in other parts of the Moon. This discovery challenges our previous understanding of lunar geology and the perception of the Moon's Earth-like characteristics. It opens up the potential for a new paradigm in our understanding of lunar geology and its resemblance to our own planet.

SpaceX launched the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Euclid observatory toward its ultimate destination 1.5 million km away, close to where the James Webb Space Telescope is in orbit.
It will take a month to get there and another two months before it starts its ambitious six-year survey this fall.
Flight controllers in Germany declared success nearly an hour into the flight, applauding and shouting "yes" as the telescope phoned home after a smooth lift-off.

26/06/2023

Proton auroras on mars are primarily caused by high-energy protons, which are charged particles originating from the Sun. These protons are accelerated by the solar wind, a stream of charged particles constantly emitted by the Sun. As the solar wind interacts with Mars' thin atmosphere, it ionizes and energizes the atmospheric gases.

When these energetic protons collide with the molecules in the Martian atmosphere, they transfer their energy to the atoms or molecules, causing them to become excited or ionized. This energy exchange results in the emission of light when the excited particles return to their stable state. The specific colors observed in proton auroras depend on the type of gas molecules involved and their energy levels.

The Martian atmosphere consists primarily of carbon dioxide, which emits a greenish glow when excited by the protons. Therefore, proton auroras on Mars often exhibit shades of green. However, depending on the presence of other atmospheric gases, such as nitrogen or oxygen, other colors like red or blue might also be visible in the auroral displays.

Saturn's moon Enceladus has been found to emit water plumes containing phosphorus, a crucial component for life, according to a recent study published in the journal Nature. Although Enceladus appears as a worn-out, icy sphere revolving around Saturn, analysis of data from a previous NASA mission uncovered substantial evidence pointing towards the existence of life on this distant moon. The scientists examined a watery plume originating from Enceladus' southern hemisphere and detected phosphorus traces.

While many might perceive phosphorus as a mere white powder used in certain explosive materials, this discovery holds significant significance for researchers. Phosphorus is regarded as one of the fundamental building blocks necessary for life's processes.

The Sun emitted a strong solar flare on Feb. 17, 2023. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, which watches the Sun constantly, captured an image of the event.

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured this image of a solar flare – as seen in the bright flash in the upper left – on Feb. 17, 2023. The image shows a subset of extreme ultraviolet light that highlights the extremely hot material in flares and which is colorized in teal. Solar flares are powerful bursts of energy. Flares and solar eruptions can impact radio communications, electric power grids, navigation signals, and pose risks to spacecraft and astronauts.
