About 1000 years old Mysterious Ganesha shrine located atop a hill in the middle of a dense forest, on a dholkal mountain in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.

It had remained hidden for centuries until it was rediscovered by an archaeologist in 2012.

Came across this mysterious looking shrine hidden away by trees 😮

📍Karnataka, India

🔸The snake shrine of Kavaledurga
It was raining heavily when we reached the entrance of Kavaledurga in Shimoga.
It made the sight of this snake shrine ruins adjacent to a dark turquoise lake even more enchanting.
Coming across this mysterious looking shrine hidden away by trees close to the the path leading upto the fort gave us some kind of an exploratory rush.

🔸Kavaledurga
▫️This heritage spot is a hidden secret in the region, devoid of the typical tourist crowd.😌
▫️An ancient hill fort situated near Shimoga in Karnataka that is perched at a height of 1541 metres. ⛰️
▫️Although in ruins right now, the hill fort is still considered to be one of the most scenic & enchanting places in the state. 🏯
▫️Engulfed in greenery, the fort is surrounded by the majestic Western Ghats. 🏞️
▫️The fort can be reached through a trek uphill that might be a little tiring but the view at the top will make it all worthwhile.😍

Manikgad is a mountain fortress and temple in Gherakilla Manikgad, India. Located among rolling hills, the temple is a popular hiking spot. Manikgad was built to oversee the trade route from Maval (Pune) to coastal ports

Only ruins of the fort remain. A big rock-cut cistern on the fort is called the "Darya take". A small Shiva Linga and a few small rock-cut cisterns are present.
