Malawi Football delegation to arrive in Liberia on Tuesday ahead of Friday's match with Lone Star
Malawi Football delegation comprised of players, technical staff and administrators is expected in the country, tomorrow, Tuesday for their opening match with Liberia for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Flames, as they are affectionately called, completed their last training session on Monday at the Bingu National Stadium before their trip.
The delegation left Kamuzu International airport in Lilongwe at 16hours GMT and will spend a night in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia before proceeding to Liberia on Tuesday.
The match will take place on Friday, 17 November at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville at 4pm.
Meanwhile, Lone Star Coach, Ansu Keita has released a 23 man squad ahead of the encounter including 17 foreign based and 7 locally based players.
Some of the notable names includes: Williams Jebor, Murphy Oscar Dorley, and Sampson Dweh both playing in Czech Republic, Joel Johnson, Seth Herbellert, Mark Parbai, Tonia Tisdell, among others.
The Lone Star of Liberia will also be at home to Equatorial Guinea on Monday, 20 November.
