Now that we have some socializing under our belt, Zippy is doing the DP’s. She gets so excited when we head to the dog park. Scratching the window with mad groans! Little by little…… 🩷💚

Meet Chloe. She’s lived 2 years of solitude. Several months later she would watch me feed the birds & deer from afar, getting used to my voice. One night I was able to touch her with some hisses & slaps. Ok, you rub on my leg. We sat outside together many, many summer nights & got to know each other. She wasn’t used to touch but so curious! I could pet her only sometimes, only for a minute. Hiss! Slap! That’s ok friend. You’re learning. She didn’t know how to play. How odd! A tossed kitty toy would bonk her nose & she’d growl. Chloe watched & watched at playtime. Intrigued. She was fascinated coming indoors. Checked out every square inch, behind every door. She got so sick licking flea meds, I’d never botched the process before, I was so sad. I thought for sure she wouldn’t make it.
She was so sick yet she managed to get up & walk to the litter box & use it, tummy gurgling more than I’d ever heard!! Poor girl, it was bad. I knew she would die. I just knew it. I did what I could, brought water to her, made her lick up tuna to puke & watched her drag herself to the litter box several times a day, never making a mess but so sick she’d potty, get out, take a few steps & lay down. Brother Bandit layed beside her. He knew. Her worst day I thought was her last, I cried & said my goodbyes to this girl I accidentally poisoned. Well, she made it!! She survived! She is learning to play & happier than ever! She followed me everywhere, swatting my leg for attention like ‘hey down here!’ She runs around, sliding on the floors, play chase & hide n seek. She’s so quiet but if she couldn’t find me I’d hear a meow & call to her. Chloe would come running to me, loving me. She lets me pet her & love her & give her kisses. She eats dry food only. What’s canned food? Treats are weird. I wasn’t planning on this bond, it just happened. She’s so happy, content. Grateful. Happiness is knowing she trusts me. I put her outside & late one night I called to her & couldn’t find her. For hours. She was at the neighbors hiding. She always hides. All the strays are mean to her I’ve noticed. She’s so passive. She heard me and climbed that chain link fence to come to me, getting her claws stuck in it, almost to the top. Glad I saw her! Cats lower our stress & anxiety. A cat’s purr can calm your nervous system & lower your blood pressure. Win win. My vet said she’s about 2 years & most likely was taken from mama too young and thrown out a car window. Well thank you to whomever did that. It’s so fun to work with her & watch her learn there are kind loving humans out there. Meet Chloe. The kitty who wanted to live. And be loved. 😸🫶
