“But the biggest disadvantage of remote work that employers cite is how difficult it is to observe and monitor employees” yeah just say you’re mad because you can’t act like you’re doing something by micromanaging grown ass people who don’t need it.
I work remotely and I rarely hear from my boss unless she has a specific task she needs me to do. I’m grateful to have a boss who trusts that I’m able to do the job that I was hired for without her constantly having to ask me what I’m doing. If you don’t have that kind of trust in your employees why even hire them???

“Jassy told his employees that he spoke to scores of other CEOs and that “virtually all of them” preferred having their employees back in the office.” Ah so he spoke to “other CEOs” and not the actual employees this would be affecting? I wouldn’t expect anything less. Truly hope he and all his CEO buddies are in office 3 days a week as well or whatever the other orgs stipulate. Otherwise its just a case of rules for thee but not for me, no other than because I said so. 🙃
It just always gets me because these people never say they want RTO because productivity is suffering, or they’re losing money, its only ever about control and being able micromanage employees.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told employees who defy his edict to return to the office three days a week that “it’s probably not going to work out for you.”
