On a documentary shoot recently, I sat down with a success story and it broke my heart as I documented her life which was full of struggles and immense pain.

There’s nothing more heartbreakingly beautiful and miraculous than witnessing people in their raw truth. Layer by layer. Peeling, Unveiling. Re-living. The crack you hear in their voice when they are talking about an incredibly painful time in their life and the twinkle in their eyes when they are telling you how they have overcome their fears. My broken heart becomes whole again. And between the breaking and mending of my heart are these amazing stories of exceptional grit, compassion, trials, empathy, pain, sacrifices, kindness, grief and resilience.

I guess that’s my way of connecting with my Creator, through connecting with His creation and witnessing the miracles.
