We travel the world in search of rare or previously unreleased recordings by legendary artists. Using a unique restoration project, we bring this priceless heritage back to life. A GROUNDBREAKING INNOVATION
It all began when Phoenix Mastering® was developed. This is a unique process that reveals the undreamed-of details of an analogic recording, giving these performances, some of which were made a

s early as the 1950s, an incomparable quality of sound. EXCEPTIONAL SOUND OBJECTS
Of all the formats we have on offer, our limited-edition vinyl records are the most sought-after as they encapsulate all our know-how. We call on the finest artisans and the most sophisticated production procedures at each stage to make them, a process that takes over four months. We make each of our productions from the original analogue tapes. The vinyl edition is pressed in 180g, limited to 2000 copies, numbered by hand. We also offer 24-bit 176.4 kHz HD versions for independent purchase.

The History of this Discovery

"It is thanks to Ulf Drechsel’s persistence that we were finally able to connect with the Finnish archives, Yle.

It took almost a year before we were able to listen to the first audio excerpts. Among unreleased recordings of Ella Fitzgerald, Bill Evans, Sarah Vaughan, and Ben Webster, we discovered two concerts by John Coltrane! Unfortunately, the initial audio quality of the Coltrane excerpts suggested that the tapes were unusable.

It wasn’t until July 2025 that we personally traveled to Helsinki with all our equipment. For four full days we listened to dozens of original tapes. On the last morning, with some time left, we decided to listen to the Coltrane tapes — though with little hope. We set the first one onto our tape machine. The first few seconds were remarkable, but the sound quality quickly deteriorated: never had a tape left so much residue on the playback heads!

We decided to listen to the tape minute by minute, cleaning the heads with alcohol between each playback. The result was incomparably superior to the excerpts we had previously heard. After weeks of restoration work, we are proud to present this first — historic — edition of the John Coltrane Quartet in Helsinki."

NEW : JOHN COLTRANE - LIVE IN FINLAND 1961 • 1962

Recorded in Helsinki in November 1961 and 1962, these performances capture Coltrane and his quartet at a moment of transformation — where exploration met revelation.

Beyond virtuosity, this release illuminates Coltrane’s deeper quest — a pursuit of beauty, friendship, and spiritual unity through sound. Like a beacon guiding generations, his music here radiates both power and serenity.

Coltrane's Helsinki performances remind us why he remains not only a legend, but a direction — the one true path for those who listen deeply.

Miles Davis and Bill Evans met in the late 1950s, when Miles was seeking new forms of expression — freer from the dense harmonies of bebop.
Evans, a little-known white pianist with European roots, caught his attention instantly with an impressionistic sensitivity reminiscent of Debussy and Ravel.
In 1958, Evans briefly joined the Miles Davis sextet. Despite their contrasting temperaments, a unique musical chemistry emerged: Evans brought a modal, spacious approach that would define a new direction in jazz.
Their collaboration culminated in 1959 with Kind of Blue — a masterpiece of collective improvisation and harmonic clarity.
Evans wasn’t meant to be there… but Miles insisted.

🎹 The story of this discovery
“My first memory of Monk was as a teenager. His language and this way of understanding the piano, so far from what I appreciated at the time, seemed then totally foreign to me. Just like Bartok's music was to me. Years later, it was a revelation: the music seemed to me totally innovative. The harmonies and melodies that overlap and collide can be listened as the way to look at a Kandinsky or a Po***ck. This previously unreleased concert, discovered in the Dutch archives, is a true Master painting that no one had ever had the chance to contemplate.”
