Andrew Soul - Theories EP, and in many ways the record with which our beloved Follow da Groove shared our vision with the world. The concept of FDG is dark, raw, and in some ways related to the musical world that comes from Detroit techno.

FDG, as with Detroit techno, is a symbol of a confusing society, to this day no longer industrial but based on the digital age. FDG instead of producing music digitally, prints on vinyl to detach the view from monitors, to savor real and true sounds that only vinyl can bring out.

Andrew Soul the first artist to have pressed vinyl for our FDG Label, delights us this time with a breathtaking podcast. A journey to discover various genres of music ranging from electro to acid house with shades of techno and progressive.

This fantastic podcast was released in 2021 as a result of the first FDG 001 vinyl release of which we are obviously very proud.

Our next release by Rico Casazza is taking shape, we are planning to release it around October / November, some delays with the pressing cause of COVID but is coming out dont worry! ⠀

In the meantime we want to share one of the track of the EP, a track that is a pure electro bullet featuring multimedia poet MC beyonder from London, this is the only track of the EP featuring an MC, it’s called Celestial Snooker. ⠀

The lyrics written and performed by MC beyonder explore the relating to the take over of the blue planet 🌎 by the red planet (Martians), and Neo’s dilemma relating to the Matrix blue or red pill - adapted to mean the reality of the blue planet or the red planetary takeover. ⠀

Niccolò Turini and Gunther Mian have recently sat down with the guys of Metazoa for an in-depth interview about the label project.

Follow da groove is born out of a passion from two young boys from Pisa, big things come from a little beginning.

From a love of sharing music from these two youngsters, and their love for electronic music has driven them from organising music events in Italy and Berlin to a conceptualised label that will soon see the light.

The interview talks about from the very start of sharing records in a basement to organising music events in Berlin to the final project, a full functioning record label that will press music on both vinyl and digital.

ANDREW SOUL (Andrea Solitario) dj e produttore italiano, nato nel 1986.

Calmo e rilassato, non si lascia disturbare da quello che gli gira intorno. Quell’aria di mistero che lo avvolge, spesso, è motivo di invidia. Inizia ad esibirsi come DJ in giro, e qualche anno dopo passa alla produzione di uno dei più sofisticati ed emotivi generi dell’house: in breve tempo si guadagna il titolo di “acid man” della sua città.
Una fusione tra house e techno, e la passione per i suoni acidi riempiono la sua mente. Un percorso fatto di groove solidi, synth acidi e vibrazioni emotive, bassline di rilievo, vocali soulfoul, roland tr-707 alla batteria: questo caratterizza al meglio il suono di Andrew. Collezionista di vinili, come artista eclettico, nei suoi set propone diverse sfaccettature di generi musicali, dalla deep alla house, passando per una techno molto elegante. La dancefloor non sa mai cosa aspettarsi dalla sua ampia conoscenza musicale: old school, classic, acid e proprie produzioni rendono il suo set molto sofisticato e diverso ogni volta. Nella sua carriera da produttore vanta dischi usciti su alcune delle più famose e storiche case discografiche underground come Killekill, Vibraphone, S***f Trax, Chiwax, Safari Electronique tra le altre, e collaborazioni con artisti del calibro di Robert Owens, Paris Brightledge, Javonntte, Josh Caffe, Hard Ton e Klaudia.
