Being a TRUE historian is a significant and serious undertaking. You can`t just say you are one. We respect it too much to do so. So, this is Moose`s journey to become a historian. We will study the American Revolution, the War Between The States, and Southern and American Culture. Plus, anything we think can be beneficial to a historian or ourselves. We recently learned that SCV Chat lost a true and cherished friend. James Thornton was not only a loyal supporter of our program but also a devoted compatriot and a kindhearted soul. I first met James several years ago at a National Reunion, introduced by Carl Jones, with whom James served as Carl’s Division Mixologist. From that moment, it was clear that James was one of a kind—full of character, humor, and a genuine spirit that touched everyone he met.

James was one of our earliest viewers, first joining us on Twitch and then following us on Facebook. Through the years, he remained a steadfast supporter of SCV Chat, always engaging and always encouraging. He dreamed of taking us out on his beloved pontoon, the SS Dixie, and hosting a live broadcast on the water. Though that dream never came to pass, it speaks to James’s generosity and the joy he brought to all who knew him.

James will be deeply missed by everyone in our SCV family and beyond. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughter we cherish, and the bonds of brotherhood he exemplified. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family during this time. Rest in peace, dear friend.
