On his way, the sheikh saw a woman with loose hair and said, "Shame on you, woman, why aren't you covered?"
She said, "sheikh, cover your eyes, my hair It can hide itself when youre not watching me."
He said, "You have brought a city into the lap of sin." Your visible hair is not hidden from the eyes of the people."
She said : "Sheikh, it is enough to guard your eyes." Because the sins of others' eyes are not yours.
He said, "You will surely be naked tomorrow too." When you don't care about your loose hair today?"
She said, "The table of the poor is more naked than mine." So why is it that your eyes don't see them.?
He said, "Your hair has stolen the religion of the people." Their faith is not safe from your seduction."
She said, "Then that religion and faith that is stolen by a hair is so weak that it does not need your trouble."
شیخ در راهش زن گیسو رها را دید و گفت
شرم کن ای زن چرا پوشیده مو های تو نیست
گفت زن ای شیخ چشمت را بپوشان موی من
میشود پنهان خودش وقتی تماشای تو نیست
گفت شهری را به دامان گناه انداختی
از نگاه خلق پنهان موی پیدای تو نیست
گفت شیخا حافظ چشمان خود باشی بس است
چون گناه چشم های دیگران پای تو نیست
گفت فردا نیز لابد لخت و عریان میشوی
وقتی از موی رها امروز پروای تو نیست
گفت از من سفره بیچاره گان عریان تر است
پس چرا آنجا خبر از چشم بینای تو نیست
گفت تار موی تو دزدیده دین خلق را
در امان ایمان شان از چنگ اغوای تو نیست
گفت پس آن دین و ایمانی که دزدش تار موست
انقدر سست است که محتاجی به بلوای تو نیست
