YOUNG SON, Caucasian, 5 to 8. This boy is receiving physical and emotional abuse from his father. As it is a silent film, believable expressive ability is the focal point of the performance.

SON, 6 to 8 years old. Is physically abused in various manners. Will be a double role, to play the father as a boy around the same age.
SON, 12 to 14 years old. Same boy, now as a teen. One scene. post-suicide.

Mike Ugada is a growing example of how to tell a story without dialogue.

Silent films are not dead, they just took a break while the rest of the film industry forgot how to make them. In a day where plot is an afterthought and talent is supplanted by looks, Mike's ability to bring out an actor's best work, and tell an engaging story without using dialogue, is a rare talent and marks him - in my opinion - among such great directors as Tarantino, Hitchcock, and Woo, as he brings to the very forefront the one thing that seems to have been lost in the rush to fame . . . The Story.
In his latest work, entitled "Happiness", he tells the story of a young woman whose life takes a wrong turn in her search for an elusive state of mind. The story winds through her life and shows where things went wrong, the decisions she made, and the consequences of those decisions, all without a single word spoken throughout the entire presentation. Only the small-minded would think it boring to watch as a masterfully woven web of events take the viewer on an emotional ride that is unexpected, and in some places unpredictable.
Though there were a few minor things I would have done differently, they were easily overshadowed by the powerful story and incredible acting throughout the length of the movie.

if you missed it, it definately is your loss!
If you haven't worked with Mike, it most certainly is your loss!
