Vet advised pet owners to take the collar of their dog out of the house since dogs can die from choking

A prominent dog first aid expert has advised pet owners to take their pet's collar outside to avoid dying from choking. A certified veterinary nurse Rachel Bean is making her voice heard after witnessing several accidental injuries that can be avoided by dogs wearing collars around the house.
A behaviorist for animals has observed dogs suffering and dying due to their collars being trapped on door handles or dials on radiators when they are home alone. In some instances, raucous playtimes between puppies have also caused deaths and choke.

Rachel travels throughout the country, offering workshops on the first flight of canines. She says there's no reason collars must be worn even when the dog is not taking an outing in the open.

The dog expert has advised against leaving dogs with harnesses and collars in indoor cages as they may get stuck on the metal.
Rachel said: "All too often, these incidents and injuries to collars that happen indoors could be prevented by one-time removal of the collar.

"Many people believe that it's legal. However, this is only true when your dog is walking.
"When you are walking with your dog you are watching them closely, but at home so many things can happen while you are not looking, and that is when these horrible incidents happen."
Incidents can occur even if you're not paying attention, which is why terrible events occur."
