Tengzug is a small village located in Tongo in the Talensi-Nabdam district in the Upper East Region Of Ghana. The landscape consists of outstanding balancing rocks formations (details on www.traveljunkiegh.com) and ancestral shrines.
The houses around the chief’s place are built in a circular form and have flat top made of rammed earth and have no paintings. Their god’s do not approve aluminium roofing and any household that disobeys can be plagued with incurable diseases.
15 minutes hike up the hills will lead you to the most popular of the shrines in that community. All persons entering the shrine must go in topless (male or female).
