🐬 FRESH OUT OF THE OVEN: Listen to Episode #002 - Finny Business! (Check our linkinbio for the full episode) 🐳
What would you do if your friends and family were taken from you and left to die as ‘collateral damage’?
This is the reality for around 300,000 dolphins and whales each year. This problem has been increasing in frequency and intensity in recent years.
Overfishing has been a nagging problem in the gulf between western France and northern Spain. This has led to increased bycatch - the incidental capture of non-target marine animals by entanglement or direct capture by hooks or trawl nets. In times of such adversity, we look for heroes amongst ourselves and hope for change.
Follow Cpt. Thibaud Durand as he and his men get caught in a thunderstorm in the Bay of Biscay and experience life-changing moments that spark his conscience. Will he gather the courage to take on his voracious boss, inspire his co-workers and put his money where his mouth is?
This episode sheds light on the conflict between man and nature due to bycatch being a dreadful consequence of inconsiderate overfishing and looks forward to potentially sustainable solutions to safeguard the species diversity in exploited marine ecosystems.
