As funny as this is, it highlights two important concepts, the pressure we put on ourselves to snap our fingers, ring in the New Year and expect to wake up changed. New Year, New You and our resulting mental health. Can we meet unattainable goals in the first week or month of the New Year? Probably not, but the expectation compounds the stress and straining mental health that is already present with rising inflation, increased interest rates and the constant fear of a recession. All of this and more (including financial abuse) is at the top of my mind and the next podcast episode dropping tomorrow. It’s so important to recognize this in our lives and do what is in our control to make a positive change.
