🗣 PATREON ANNOUNCEMENT!!

The Colubrid and Colubroid Radio Patreon is now live! The first CCR short goes live Wednesday 9/11 and a new one will be loaded every other week after. These will come out on the off weeks from the standard episodes (that can still be found on spotifiy, youtube, etc.) CCR Shorts are 30-60 minute episodes in which Zac and Clint tackle a target that may not take up an entire regular episode but still deserves an in depth discussion. Lots of advice in the CCR Shorts! Never go a week without new CCR content again!

The new episode is out... and there is a video version! Listen to us in your regular streaming platforms or WATCH on youtube! This was interesting to say the least. There was quite literally a tornado hitting within a mile of Clint's shop, a snake loose in Zac's room, and poor Sarah Mohr had to suffer through two old guys learning technology lol. We will get better! Either way we learned some cool stuff about corn morphs with Sarah Mohr of Sara's Snake Shop!

Believe it or not thats my happy face. Finally found a live Lamp while in the dessert on this trip. We have found three species of rattlesnakes, coachwips and a Gila but for me this has been the h**p of the trip. As far as Kings go this looks all the world like a California Kingsnake to me, but based on the books this is technically an integrade king. Anybody have thoughts on this?

Zac Here - I wanted to let everyone know that I misspoke and made a mistake in the last episode of CCR on lighting.

Thanks to a valued listener, I was informed that I flipped UVA and IRA in the episode. For the record, UVA can pe*****te a bit more than UVB into an animal's skin, but is not what makes people feel hot when the sun hits them. IRA is the radiation that has that effect - it is what pe*****tes deep into animal muscle tissue. UVA is what is used for a lot of hormone regulation and produces the unique spectrum that many animals, including several species of reptiles see that we can not. Sorry for the mistake - I flipped the letters around in the "heat" of conversation. I just recorded a brief intro explaining the mistake which we are adding to the episode. I want to again thank the listener who messaged me and informed me of this mistake - we are all about educating here at CCR - you all are always welcome to address things of this nature with us! Zac here. In our episode dropping this week, I discuss how my MBKs and California Kingsnakes kicked my butt this season. Out of 5 potential "western" king clutches, I could only get 2 to the egg bins, including these Mud Kings. Does anybody else in CCR land have an issue like this this year?
