Promoting Responsible Business Voices. Covid, Brexit, disruptive technology, the climate emergency: this is a time of change and of crisis.
vocL works with the next generation of business leaders to help them find their voice and enabling them to have a much more positive impact on society. It is a time of challenges to which business - with its expertise and experience, its long-term perspective and its resources - must be a critical part of the answer. The time is thus ripe for vocL. At vocL, we believe business has lost its voice.
Whether at COP26, during the negotiation of vital new trade deals, or in the debate over business ethics, the business voice has seemed strangely quiet or even to be absent altogether. At the same time, we believe there is an urgent need, within business, for more thoughtful, truthful, inclusive, values-driven and socially responsible leadership. Finally, we believe it is critical, as never before, for the business leaders of today and of tomorrow - business’s next generation leaders - to have a bigger, freer, more respected and more confident voice in the national conversation; and that our often overly fractious debates would be more balanced and our society fairer and less divided if they did.

Our incredible panel discussion successfully inspired hope, motivation and encouragement for a greener Britain at anthropy today.
Ben Horn, vocL voice and Digital Transformation Director at Crystal Doors, shared his success story achieving a net zero factory and expressed confidence in that money can be made investing in sustainable technology.
Will Lankston, vocL Voice and Managing Director at Timpson Direct, rightly reminded us that this isn’t a one size fits all situation. So while it may be possible, it might just be harder with mass market commodity products.
Anabel Kindersley, vocL associate and Co-Owner / CEO of Neal's Yard Remedies, added by passionately insisting that we bring everyone with us on the sustainability journey by incentivising customers.
Juergen Maier, host and co-founder of vocL, ended by calling for us to become “pragmatic agitators” as we continue the fight towards a greener britain.

What an incredible start to Anthropy UK! With so much emphasis already placed on nurturing emerging leaders amongst the sessions, we are thrilled to be part of the conversation here.
One of the first sessions today, hosted by vocL associate and CEO of Ampa Group and Shakespeare Martineau LLP, Sarah Walker-Smith and featuring vocL co-founder Juergen Maier, was centred around the state of our towns and cities and what we can do to help regeneration.
Tariq Shah, Director at Vigo Group, discussed a partnership approach, being additive with local authorities instead of competitive while Joanne Anderson, former mayor of Liverpool, highlighted the importance of taking into consideration people planet and equality when making any decisions.
When asked “how would you like the prime minister to help?” Maier suggested that the focus needs to be less on the polls and more on real leadership.
