Bonnie and Clyde were a notorious criminal couple who robbed banks, stores, and gas stations in the early 1930s. The pair were known for their violent crimes and were responsible for several murders and were eventually caught and killed in a police ambush in 1934. The couple rode a Ford Model 40 B Fordor Deluxe sedan because at the time that car was faster than most police cars, making it the ideal getaway vehicle.

Grant Wood’s painting of a farmer and his daughter is known as an authentically American image, but some believe it retells a legend from Ancient Greece. Historians found their first clue when closely examining the woman’s brooch. They discovered that the cameo design was a classical representation of the mythological goddess Persephone who was taken hostage by the god of the underworld, Hades. Traditionally, Hades is depicted with a pitchfork, much like the one the farmer is holding. Others believe that the globe at the top of the weather vane represents Pluto, the planet associated with the Greek god Hades.

The crocodile paradox was created to show problems with logic when it comes to things we don’t know yet but could maybe guess what could happen. Imagine a crocodile stealing a child from a mother. The crocodile tells her that he will only give back her son if she guesses correctly what he’ll do with the child. The mother guesses that the crocodile will eat him. If the croc were to eat the child, its promise is broken. Then the croc would have to return the child. However, if the croc chose to give back the child, the mom could be incorrect but she’d get her son back regardless.

There are new studies that found that it’s very possible our green and blue earth was once purple. The reason it might have been purple could have been due to a molecule named retinal. So it looks like there was something other than chlorophyll that harnessed the sun’s powerful rays.
