It's the simple things!

Today Jason Vest was doing some work in the attic so he show the girls what it looks like. They were amazed to see it and to feel the temperature difference. (They both said it was really dirty).

It's not hard to share the simple things about your life. Ask me more about hosting an exchange student.

When we decided last year to double host, we weren't quite sure what to expect. We were nervous about many things and hoped that we could find a match that would work well.

I do not claim any skill in being able to match these two girls together. It is a pure miracle before my eyes. They love each other so deeply that it brings tears to my eyes. They support each other in ways I never would have dreamed would happen. There are too many stories to tell, but I feel truly blessed to be a part of watching these two become sisters.

If you have every thought about hosting, take a chance. The potential rewards are far greater than you could ever imagine.

It's is hard to believe that a year ago I was experiencing the darkest depression of my life.

The last couple of weeks, I have felt overwhelming joy and deep feelings of gratitude for the amazing blessing that I have. Especially the ones I have because of foreign exchange.

Today, I start a journey to visit 4 of my kids. I did not give birth to them, but I love them as deeply as if they are my own.

I feel so increadibly blessed in my life to have these people be a part of it. I cannot imagine my life without any of these beautiful people. I am so grateful for the blessings that foreign exchange has brought into my life.

The first thing Jason said to me on our wedding day was, "I don't want to be here." He had come down with the flu the night before our wedding. He had a fever of 103, headache, stuffy nose, cough, etc. This is my favorite picture of our day because it shows the story of that day.
